I am impressed with the sounds of that Nord keyboard! I like the Hammond Suzuki SK-1 much better. But I would prefer the Wersi Pegasus Wing as it has more sounds, more professional features, a touch screen and also is a work station too.
@patsaxon I got the Pedal Keys 27 and C2... gotta do a recording. Its pretty amazing, though the keys of the C1 for some reason felt springier. I tell people who ask for my advice on keyboards that you really have to decide what's best for you... Sound's important, but I think the feel of the keyboard has to let you do what YOU want to do. For me, I really love this thing -- feel like I'm playing a console!
Eddie: I got a C -2! You convinced me. A few percentage points shy of perfection, but that's entirely made up for by the portability and versatility.
@bob4247 Thx. The great thing about being an organist is that you don't have to worry with someone up and running with it between sets... the worst thing is that they don't move themselves. Usually people would help you get the organ IN the club, but they'd all disappear when it came time to getting it out ! ! !
@EddieLandsberg I'm an old fart and belonged to a B-3 trio in the 70's (I play tenor) and have seen that happen. The NORD does a great job and frankly, if my eyes were closed, it would be difficult to tell the difference. My set-up here uses Bose and JBL pro equipment. So my audio is great.
The organist (Geoff Palmer) used two Leslies… Talk about pumping it up! When we first started I couldn't hear myself? I electrified.
@bob4247 YEAH, nothing beats the warmth of two stock model Leslies. The purpose is to provide a stereo effect, by the way, not volume... still, I've played with sax players used to piano trios and warned them to mic because B-3 bass PUMPS, but many just don't listen. - - then they freak out during the gig. - - Hey, not the Geoff Palmer who played for Sons of Champlin??? (There's another "Jeff" Palmer who's an out there Berklee player too.)
@EddieLandsberg He's the Geoff of the Sons, not the Berklee guy.
This was in the mid '60's now that I think of it. He would haul it around in a hurst if my memory is correct. Geoff would also have Harrington haul it around for him. harrington was the local B-3 expert. This all happened in Chicago. BTW His parents were well known local entertainers and did a ton of local and national. commercials.
@bob4247 Ahhhh yes, the old hearse stories. I heard a lot of them. Jimmy Smith told the one how it was a great way not to get parking tickets when stopped by the cops. I heard that the organists back then had a way of cutting the organ down so it would slide right in... Did you ever do the old bar-walking type stuff, or were you strictly straight ahead? I love organ/tenor combos... very rare these days, and many sax players can't play the blues... :-(
@EddieLandsberg Never did bar walking with Geoff group, however we played a great joint on the infamous Mannheim Strip near O'Hare Field, The Black Door. The bar/stage was shaped like an "L," with the stage running parallel to the front windows. We were on the second floor and the front of the building was solid plate glass window.
@EddieLandsberg So the entertainment was a live billboard to the street below. The bar was at the same level as the stage and ran down the side. And yes, playing the tenor and being on the left side of the stage, next to the bar, I did a bar walk.
what kind of stand are you using for your nord?

The Nord sounds so close it's worth not hauling the extra 450 lbs for a real tonewheels
