Someone I know actually thought this with the thumbtacks: The tacks are fake by which the pins fold down and stick to your back and believes that it cares a blood pack in the process.

YEAH RIGHT! If that were true, then the fake blood would smear all over his back. Plus, things that small wouldn't be able to hold a blood pack. I heard thumbtacks to skin don't hurt that much. They may hurt and cut, but the pins aren't that long and don't pierce deeply into your skin.
