I remember the Shield Rod, and a spell you use when you have all shields. When active, you touch an enemy with your shield and it will do massive damage repeatedly. I defeated Dracula literally within 2 seconds with this.

Exactly. If you complete the game (good way) and explore 190% of the castle(s) then you get this one where she goes after you. There is a very bad ending, two versions of a bad ending and two good endings, most people don't seem to notice the difference.

You can't *not* meet Maria and use goggles. You either get them or you don't as she's the one who gives them to you in the clock tower. On his own he just gives a speech I can't remember.

You have to meet her for most parts of the game but before you meet Richter (and to avoid the bad ending) you need to meet her after the spike-filled tower to get the Holy Goggles off her. If you simply avoid this, or take the goggles but dont use them vs Richter, you will get one of two very bad endings.

To get the best ending you need to explore both castles to the point of being no less than having both castle maps fully revealed bar 2%-3% - There's a room in the castle that I think can only be entered once, and is fully dependant on being at the big clock at a specific time, otherwise you can only explore 198% (I think) except a glich which allows you to travel outside the castle.

Any less and you get the 'good' ending, this is the 'best' ending.

Admittedly he's a dissapointing and easy last boss - It just looks ridiculously easy because I'm spamming the Chrisagrim(sp) which is a rare-drop weapon that does in arounds half the damage of most of the later drops, but hits four times at once ie. Just have fun spamming the attack button and watching everything infront of you die. I hadn't played SOTN for a long time before I made this hence I'm playing very sloppy and chose the easy way out.

It is, yes. Some dialogue was removed in the PSX English version. Mostly Maria related material (Such as fighting her before Richter when she wants to 'test' you to see if you are ready for the battle) where removed, and Maria was removed as a playable character.

They where only in the Saturn version along with little dialogue changes like the one you mention. No idea why people are downrating your comment seeing as it's true.

This part of the game is the most memorable for me. The father was first indignant about his hatred for humans, but Alucard showed that by defeating him, he also defeated his cursed blood line, and ended the misery of his father.
