This was a literally breathtaking documentary, and it sent shivers down my spine...like every few minutes. I doubt the tour will ever happen... But if it will, I can imagine how fast the tickets will sell hah
I think if GNR got a reunion tour, that would be single-handedly the most historical moment in all of music. It would be huge and the entire world would be in tears of joy.
I hated axl. until i read steven adlers book recently. when steven had his first overdose, Axl was the only one there when steven woke up. the nurse told steven that he was there all night. showed a different side of axl to me.
they should have left the name behind and all started new after axl was left on his own..... theres more gnr in velvet revolver than in the newer gnr! its a shame they left but i totally see why they did it! but i still feel sorry for axl cos he went through so much and being so famous and messed up must have been tough! it seems like when ever one of them went through a drug/ alchol problem they didnt want to deal with it so they just abandoned that person...:/

I both love and hate Axl. I think many do. Let`s face it. He was a part of creating a great legendary band. But he also destroyed the same band. I don`t blame it all on Axl but it looks like he was 90% of the reason GNR disbanded. Saw new GNR live in Oslo, Norway last year and Axl and co. did a great gig for 2 hours and 20 minutes. So I`m glad Axl has gotten a new chance, He deserved his comeback after years of pain and messed up shit.
I feel Axl got crazy and megalomaniac after the 2 years of touring... His face changed, everything changed. I guess it s quite unhealthy to be always traveling, to see millions of people shouting at you, "adoring" you... I would be mad...
It's so easy to blame everything on Axl just because he's an easy target.. But put yourself in his shoes, being the greatest frontman brings lot of shit to him.. And its hard as hell being him.. Granted his demands were sometimes not in the overall favor of the band, but you can't deny that musically any decisions he took were wrong. Axl may very well be the biggest douche in music history. I can't think of another mainstream frontman who is so consumed with being an egotistical asshole and who is so willing to hurt others around him.
The fact is both Slash and Axl on stage was magical, they are both legends. And I totally agree that Axl Rose is the greatest frontman, rock n' roll has even seen, they both had different aspirations. But in order to make their dreams happen, they needed each other... And in turn, both pushed further away from one another It's just human nature, a solo artist is free their styles. But what are the chances of five completely different, amazingly talented guys have exactly the same dreams?

You mean like their manager that toured with them? Their A&R person that worked with them to arrange the tour? All of these "old people" worked directly with or for the band. Thus being in the documentary....
i have a;ways backed axl and now even more i realize that slash was using the media to spin sympathy for him and axl rarely talked at all its like slash took advantage of axl knowing him so well he could manipulate the situation.... slash is consistent, secure, and in control of what he is saying and how it will be taken and axl just talks straightforward when he talks axl is very sincere...
Well that cant be the case, because all the rest of the band had the same problems with axl... The only reason people listen to slash's statements more is that he and axl were closer than the rest, and were seen as the leaders.

@NotoriousYeshi The signing of the band name was leagl and in front of their lawyers which Duff and Slash agreed on. The money was put into escroll for Slash and Duff .That was never distributed until 1997 when Duff left because Duff's wife was having preganancy difficulties, and that is when Axl bought the rights to the Gn'R name in 1997. Duff and Slash did not contest it and as Slash said in a reading, he commented he had no problem with it because it was Axl's legacy.

After Izzy left and things were flat out haywire and as it was always said that they were falling apart before they even got started. Axl wanted to protect his legacy that was handed to him from Tracii Guns and Duff and Slash agreed and the story changed from the truth after Slash left Guns. Duff never collaborated Slash's story about that.

If it wasn't for his face features still look the same, a little older looking though, I would of never recognized him. He was with the band called Power Trip.

The band all thought, were done for 6 weeks, nope, and Axl finished the concert the night that happened. PAIN !

Someone told me they were at a Guns concert and saw Slash hurl behind a speaker more than once. Slash never wanted the fans to know he was a substance abuser and held a gruge to Axl for Mr. Brownstone comment to the band in front of the crowd in hopes the drugs to stop.

I thought he was going to fall over. I remember Axl saying it was really hot out that day !

My entire point is that you have no idea what is going on in Axl's mind, and the fact that he went on with a new version of GnR is in no way an indication of him wanting the old GnR back.

@NotoriousYeshi The signing of the band name was leagl and in front of their lawyers which Duff and Slash agreed on. The money was put into escroll for Slash and Duff .That was never distributed until 1997 when Duff left because Duff's wife was having preganancy difficulties, and that is when Axl bought the rights to the Gn'R name in 1997. Duff and Slash did not contest it and as Slash said in a reading, he commented he had no problem with it because it was Axl's legacy.

After Izzy left and things were flat out haywire and as it was always said that they were falling apart before they even got started. Axl wanted to protect his legacy that was handed to him from Tracii Guns and Duff and Slash agreed and the story changed from the truth after Slash left Guns. Duff never collaborated Slash's story about that.

If it wasn't for his face features still look the same, a little older looking though, I would of never recognized him. He was with the band called Power Trip.

Kiss is touring again and now I know why Gene had that done is because of his make-up. Yeah, When Axl blew his right ankle it was in 91 cuz they were in Indiana in 91 and Axl had the cast and boot on. The band all thought, were done for 6 weeks, nope, and Axl finished the concert the night that happened. PAIN !

Someone told me they were at a Guns concert and saw Slash hurl behind a speaker more than once. Slash never wanted the fans to know he was a substance abuser and held a gruge to Axl for Mr. Brownstone comment to the band in front of the crowd in hopes the drugs to stop.

Axl noticed it and told Slash about it. It does make me wonder what they would of sounded like back without the drugs and booze. I saw that with Slash on Paradise City. I thought he was going to fall over. I remember Axl saying it was really hot out that day !

I read in alot of articles also and there's a clip here on YouTube that says slash should of left Guns after the Lies album becuase he didn't like the music. After the Illusion tour slash said it was nothing but an exercise for him and Duff was standing right next to slash and gave him a dirty look.
