  • what the fuck......why is it yellow

  • @crushcupp2011 To match the older sirens in the system.

  • Sounds kind of low pitched.

  • @JMAN123436 It's actually what it should be for this model of 2001. It's the SRNBs and 130s that are really high pitched and make this model sound too low.

  • Looks like a 2001-DC.

  • @TboltSiren1000T AC just means a DC without battery backup.

  • Does Grand Island has ACA hurricanes because I heard one in in "Grand Island Nebraska Tornado - Great Siren"

  • @97Siren Grand Idland has never had Hurricanes. The only sirens in that video are Model 2T-120s and Thunderbolt 1000Ts. Actually, the 2T heard is the one at Lincoln Elementary and the 1000Ts are at 4th St and Congdon Ave, and Knickrehm Elementary.

  • get the feds out 9,11 was inside job gawd

  • another comment the 2001 stops because the rotator is programed to stop

after each Attack cycle to not put added stress on the motor

  • @garyhstorms09 not programmed, the rotator has a special gearbox to do this. It would be impossible to program since the siren motor drives both the chopper and rotator...

  • When did Federal paint thier 2001s Yellow are these the 2001s that where made right after the end of the Thunderbolt Sirenand do they still paint them Yellow and it would be cool to see and hear both a Yellow Thunderbolt 1000T

    and 2001 in Attack

  • It is from 1991, so it's right around the time they stopped making thunderbolts. I'm not sure if Federal painted them yellow or if the paint is aftermarket, but the newer 2001s that I see are white.

  • Ahh, here's a yellow 2001! North Collego Hill, Ohio has one that stops rotating at the end of each attack cycle, but isn't yellow.

  • Nice video of a yellow 2001. Topeka has quite a few yellow 2001s. This is also the first 2001 I have seen stop during each attack cycle.

  • This would be a second generation SRN (First generation being the round-back 2001's).

  • Excellent sounding 2001-DC.

  • Nice dark beige color 2001 DC.

  • ITS YELLOW!!!! i love the video!

  • The siren's rotator is probably set to the chopper's speed, like the disc in a Thunderbeam. This looks like a 2001-DC to me. Rare in yellow.

  • All of the 2001s we have from the '90s are yellow. There is even one that has a screen in it. Next time I'm by it I'll take a picture.

  • Comment removed

  • Also, this might be a 2001-DC or AC because there's no FS logo on the horn. That also explains why it does the stupid rotator stuff.

  • I would actually say that this is still a 2001-DC. Really all 2001s are DC powered. They all use DC motors. The difference is the controls. Most have a battery cabinet on site, but some, like this one, do not. The ones that don't have battery backup have a transformer that changes the AC power to DC.

  • Must have some rotator issues. I've seen Thunderbolts do this. Great video! I've never seen a yellow 2001 before!

Oh, and if you want info on 2001's, go to the Federal Signal website and look at Products-Warning Sirens and click on the 2001-130 page.

  • All of our 2001s from the '90s are yellow. There is even one with a screen in it.
