  • that guy is one of my fav actors, every time i see him i cant help to think of myst

  • Game ending options:

    1. Win: save a civilization, help a Psycho get home, make Atrus happy

    2. Lose: get yourself killed by Psycho with a hammer.

    3. Lose: get yourself AND your friends killed by Psycho with a hammer.

    4. Lose: let Psycho destroy civilization. Make Atrus unhappy.

    5. Win, With Guilt: Save civilization, but leave Psycho to a horrible, lonely fate and hate yourself forever.

... These games had the best endings for making you feel completely despicable/like a total idiot lol

  • most LOL ending ever!

  • LOL replace saavedro with sephiroth yelling JENOVA!!!!

  • I mean come on? Its like a rock hammer, you could knock him out quicker than he could swing that thing, and it probably shouldnt kill you anyways.

  • Someone should do this scene in chipmunk version(aka sped up.)... :D

  • 0:25 the stranger grunts lol

  • @RickRay9@ i would play F.E.A.R if i had the balls, seriously! just watching saavdero pacing up and down in his lab makes me feel uneasy! haha ;-)

i will maybe look it up on utube sometime though when im older lol :-)

  • @Craziness714 i dont think he was implied to be a hippie i think it might've been the 20 years trapped without a abarbers near by ;-)

i mean, i spent the entire game shouting: GET A HAIRCUT but he didnt listen ;-)

  • I remember one thing about Exile and that was that I spent the entire game chasing a hippie.

  • lol y u stab me?

  • I dunno, I thought being killed by a book was worse.

  • Ive played this game so many times when i was like 10 - 11, everytime i always managed to draw the wrong lever so that the sheild went down and i got pwnd by a hammer :(

  • There's a GOOD ending?!?!?? They snatch the damn book, after YOU'VE done all the hard work, and you don't even get a t-shirt!!!!!!!!

  • @bearhedded i know right?!?!

  • @bearhedded Man, Melee Island was certainly a rewarding place.

  • I did not see that one... wow....

  • 0:27 STOP!

    Hammertime

  • I'd love to compose for a soundtrack for a game like Myst! Composing music like this is fun!

  • whats the point of this game whats the story if you know message my profile

  • Check Out My Rendition of the Myst Theme!

  • wow, Saavedro is an ape - he effortlessly kills 3 people using only a stone-age hammer

  • hmm, i disagree cuz the ending with Saavedro tricking the player and throwing away the releeshahn book left me wondering if there is a way of getting it back... -_-

lucky i haven't saved back then...

  • hahazhhahahahahahahajhahaha

  • i dont think this is the worst ending. i think if you leave saavedro trapped after he gives you the book is the worst. cuz then the guilt is awful about leaving him, especially after what atrus says about it.

  • guilt < death.

  • Lol, in a video game it kind of isn't. Because you dying in a video game doesn't actually make you feel bad.

Unless you take it way too seriously.

  • False.

  • uhhh......possibly true?

  • possibly true? have u even played this game?

Sounds to me like you're jumping to conclusions like a typical sheep.

  • The series should have ended after Riven, as it had a terrific ending.

Having said that, the fourth game was the only one after Riven that deserved the Myst label.

  • nope it only got better u need to play the fourth one

  • Yes the fourth one was very good

  • @762full

No, no. You should at least try them.

  • the random guy is a main character .. one that scared the hell out of me, too. When you run aroung, listening to his weird records, you really think how much you do NOT want to meet him, don't you? Oh, and did you notice the actor was later Grima Wormtongue? Looks exactly like he does here, actually.

  • Oh well, now I've learned how this game isn't like the other boring ones.

This ending is a bit scary, but funny :)

  • Hilarious. I was thinking at first," this is worse than getting killed?"

By jove Atrus, the pen is mightyer than the...hammer?

No one, has heard of MYST. I grew up with this scientific imagination. MYST sparked my run of creativity when I was young.

  • LOL!!!!!

why did some random guy come out and assasinate you?

  • i got scared but EPIC FAIL xD

  • nothing, just the best game in history

  • i never heard of it

  • that's strange :S

  • i never played the worst end, but that's cool

  • I love these games. Just beat URU today along with the others. But does anyone know what was the point of URU? I mean, the story is unresolved, what happened? lol. Nevertheless, i wish more of these games were made, i want to move on a see what else could happen.

  • It was supposed to continue online in a MMORPG. It never really took off.

  • it got no real ending cause they wanted to add other parts but only 2 were finished and nobody in europe wanted to play it online so it ends and so the last part was made i think myst, riven and part 4 are the best games ever made part 5 wasnt too good and 3 was a bit to easy or me but good acting

  • Myst V: End of Ages wraps up the story.

  • i just beat that game today

  • I think three people could defeat one guy with a tiny pathetic hammer.

  • LOL

  • How many people have made MC Hammer jokes here?

  • LMAO! I was confused about the hammer thing: "Why do they look scared- and why does it look like I'm feeling dizzy?"

Lol, I thought Saavedro wasn't so bad?

  • Comment removed

  • It's a dude lol

  • @RickRay9 its a man , loll!! :-)

  • @BmdXxx Lol I know that was a year ago! :D

Seriously though.. play F.E.A.R.. you'll have nightmares and you will be scarred for life. That's my opinion of the game. It's fuckin' scary! xD

  • @RickRay9

I know. The first two F.E.A.R. games were actually pretty good but the third one wasn't so good.

  • Worst ending... or BEST ending? -wiggles eyebrows-

As long as I see Dourif in action, I'm happy.

  • Oh come on, the worst ending is definitely the one where you return with Releeshan without setting Saavy free! Good lord I did that once just to see what would happen and I felt terrible!

  • I was on a message board and somebody asked "Seems like an anticlimax. You link home and Saavedro is trapped there? Is that it?" I was genuinely angry. "You LEFT him out there, you sonofabitch?!" (Like he was a real person). All of the MYST games were so emotionally engaging, it never even occurred to me to do something that cruel.

  • Yeah, I always play the good guy and let him go to where his family might possibly be. I left him there once and felt terrible about it.

  • Exile was so much easier than Riven. If you got this ending it's honestly your own fault. The only confusing part - the whole game was confusing but this is the only part that gets you killed - is figuring out how the shields in Narayan work but apart from that it's theoretically possible to beat without a walkthrough. Riven? Pfft, good luck. I was never able to manage without one.

  • Riven is completely beatable without hints if you take good notes and pay attention. It is HARD, but everything is logically constructed.

  • What the fuck?

  • what was that that killed you?

  • a sledgehammer blow to the head.

  • That will do it.

  • How to deal with a mad man lessen one:

If he says he's going to kill you and has the tools, the motive and the will do so. Take him for his word.

    Lessen two:

    Don't get your friends envoled.

  • Isn't the actor who played Saavedro the same one who played Wormtongue in LOTR2??

  • Yup the guy from lotr2 linked to the myst world [He also appears in lotr3 atleast in the extended version.

  • Ah ha! I thought he looked familiar

  • AKA Brad Douriff, a fantastic actor who hasn't gotten many chances to display it.

  • Yeah, the Myst-games have awesome stories, and when I played Myst III I thought he got to be a professional actor. He really makes the game feel more realistic and emotional.

  • Yep he linked to the Myst world to kick some more ass!

  • He's a pretty damn good actor.

  • @demoman87

    Yes.

  • @demoman87 Indeed he is.

  • @demoman87 Yep! :D

  • @demoman87 yes. I noticed this while watching the movie and looked it up. He is played by Brad Dourif, who is also in Dune.

  • @demoman87 Yep.

  • YES!!

    I remember this.

  • say what?! How do you get this ending??

  • You just go downstairs and get the book and use it without helping Saavedro.

  • how can you turn on words

    on ps2????

  • the closest thing you'll get to being killed by Chucky, in this world. lol

  • Wow...

  • i didnt know that you could die in a myst game !?

  • You can die in Riven too

  • iiiiii did not know that thanks tthen im gonna play riven yayyyyyy

  • LOL

Well even in the 1st Myst game, well you don't die, but you can get trapped in a book

  • eek i remember being really scared when i hearde footsteps in the hidden passige and i was 3 skared the hell outta me

  • haha same, but what scared me more was that wierd sound from the wooden house in myist 1!

  • you can die in myst 4 too, idk about 5

  • I did this one time, just to see what happened, I was like "Oh $%$&" when I saw him show up.

  • And everyone died!! EEE!!! ))))

  • i hav gone through each one from the original to IV i dont like the actual 3d ones its like a first person shooter where nothing much happens.

but i must say i loved II III n IV they were freaking awesome i never finished MYST I i found it alot more difficult probably cos i was about 8 or 9 when it came out i hope the go back to the none 3d format they were so much more beautiful.

  • Myst is done. The only thing still out with frequent updates is Uru which is full 3D and can be played in 3rd or 1st person.

  • oh, what a great game!!

  • How did that happend ?

I remember if u took the wrong lever he came back and hitted u with an hammer

and if u took the right lever he could take that trasnport home :P

  • You always have the option to link back to Tohmana, but if you do it before trapping Saavedro, he will follow you and kill everyone. That's what he meant when he said the doors that linking books open "don't close behind you".

  • Oh Yea :P

  • Gods, please learn english, thanks.

  • wat happend "did you look ouuuuut"

  • i'm tied with Myst 4 and 5 to which is harder though i've never actually played myst 5 proberly yet but still... atleast in the myst games there changling and just happens to be my favourite game since it has everything i like in it

  • damm never saw that before lol 6 diffrent endings

  • i LOVED this game. i'm replaying four now, loving it, but does anyone agree with me that EoA SUCKED? i love the series, but five just seemed inconsistant with everything myst stood for.

  • lol i was like lalallalalalalala ARGH

  • holy shit i thort there were only two endings. i got hit on the head the first time haha

  • i have Myst 1-3...at first when i got them I never played them and thought they were gay...but actually these are really fun and kick ass!

umm can any1 help me beat Riven and Myst 3?

  • Oh my! O_O I'm so glad I never did that! I got killed by Saavedro the other way, but this one... Wow o_o

  • Your luck!

I'm going to post the second worst ending.. someday :D

  • HAHA!! I did this. Oh my gosh, i did this the first time! lol I know I shouldn't be laughing. But when it happened. I was too shocked. I kept on saying WTF?! LOL!!

  • yep, me too

  • Sweet....I mean, uh, thank you very much for that. I really was going to mention something interesting....

  • No problem :D

  • what the hell was that`?

  • Saavedro'll follow you to Tomahna.

  • haha, that's the closest you'll ever get to getting hit in the back of the head by Brad Douriff.

  • scary

  • ouch... I don't want this to happen to me...

I'm playing Myst 3 right now, and I'm still stuck at that first age...

  • reply. I made to the end finally. It was to date the hardest MYST game I had to face. I unfortunately found myself at one of the bad endings. Saaverdro tricked me! What a jerk!

  • be sure to save RIGHT before you make your last moves. WIth that, i managed to look at all the possibilities, and got all the endings. i think there's only one good one.

  • Well no there is 2. But in the second one you bring the book back and Atrus is happy, but because you left Saavedro prisoner, he suicides.

  • actually, there's about 4.

  • oh wait, good endings. soz.

  • There are quite a few bad ones, one semi-good one where you win but don't feel like you have, and a good one where you do that one final thing right.

  • I found two good ones.

The first is that you beat the game perfectly.

The second is when you should help Saavedro to go back to his home, you leave him there and go back to Tomahna with the book.

  • what one do u do to beat it perfectly??? and how???

  • I found walkthrough at fisicx.

Write it and the game to google and search.

  • But is that really good? I mean, Atrus kind of admonishes you for not beign merciful.

  • ...hardest Myst game? You might what to go back a bit there, cause the IV Revelation is killer hard. So bad, that i'm stuck and not moving.

other than that, Myst III was my fav. :D *hugs crazy Saavedro* lol ;D "A hug a day, keeps the insanity away" lol

  • If ya need help about myst IV write to skype hirotaro_taira

  • Really? I found Revelations rather easy.... Well, sort of, I guess it was just too short, with only 4 ages and one completely 'skippable' if you know what the ending puzzle is, it doesn't really feel up to par with the other games.... Also, I thought End of Ages was the hardest XD took me forever to figure out how to use the tablets... I never played Uru, so maybe I lost some info there....
