  • genres are dumb 2

  • genres are not dumb... i think what you are trying to say is that the sub-cultures from genres are dumb... because genre itself is just the type of music. but still, that sub-culture is not exactly dumb because it is a way for people to express what kind of persons they are through these defined lifestyles... if you're not one of them then just let them be, let us be... long live grunge!

  • music genre is just a way to define the music... what in the hell is dumb with that?... you hater... XD please just have fun with music as everyone does, without starting a quarrel

  • Ok maybe with the first 2 records. But PJ are really different to anything that's out right now. They are still a breath of fresh air. I thank God we have them.

  • GRUNGE IS DEAD;-(

  • Funny you should say that because what grunge has in common with disco is none of the major disco groups of that era considered themselves to be disco. Same thing is true with grunge. Nirvana, Mudhoney, and the Melvins were all punk bands. Alice in Chains, Tad, and Soundgarden were all metal bands and Pearl Jam was (and still is) a contemporary rock band. Everyone else was just simply following a new trend.

  • Melvins consider themselves "sludge metal". not punk. I have to agree with them. Punk is Dead Kennedy's and Adolescents, Melvins sound nothing like them.

  • Genres are dumb . . .

  • I agree 100%.

  • awts... that's kinda tru actually... but as humans we like being dumb... :p

  • agreed

punk is dead kennedys for sure

no one will ever take that away with him

  • Pearl Jam a contemporary rock band? ha I think your missing the point here

  • Ok they never once tried to be a "grunge" band so what point am I missing?

  • Mudhoney is no doubt the greatest grunge band of all time, great song too

  • ♥♥

  • That is him no doubt about it. Nirvana and Mudhoney where always good friends so it would be no surprise that Krist would come out in a mudhoney video.

  • is that krist in from nirvana 1:26

  • yeah dude, i fucking notice that too. i'm sure it is. i never knew. i guess it was when he still had hair

  • actually i dont know. it does look like him.......

  • look likes him

  • Superfuzz!!! Grunge rules,Seattle was the mecca of music.Only Pearl Jam left now, cant believe Mark Arm works in the Subpop warehouse to this day!

  • are you sure because I could've sworn Sonic Youth was still together.

  • Sonic youth are n.y.c? could be wrong!

  • true but they are credited to helping the grunge scene take off. But then again look at Eddie Vedder. He's from San Diego.

  • So true.Just the irony that all the microsoft money came flooding into seattle and all the meaning went with it.Pearl Jam always get together in seattle to make records, and i guess that gives them survivor status!

  • grunge ISNT dead !

  • o.o awesomeeeeeee song i give it.... 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10 :)

  • grunge never died !!!!!!!

    Fuck You Pantera

  • this song while drunk/stoned = euphoria i rock out so hard lol

  • no seas tarado sin los nirvana eran muy amigos de los mudhoney

incluso cuando tocaban mudhoney con cobain cantaba mark arm

  • si es Krist, está clarísimo... además, eran amigos xD

  • yeeeeees, wtf is he doing there?

  • I've always wondered that too. Looks just like him.

  • yeah. it totally is

  • the bass is fucking crazy on this track,i love it :_=/

  • great drummer

  • hehe nice one kurt, these guys are good;) so is the melvins

  • i know why

    kurdt liked

    Mudhoney...

    :)

  • this is grunge

  • ppl you need to quit comparing these bands together !

they all have different qualities that they exceed on which makes them great and unique !

  • dude, this is mudhoney, a totally different band than nirvana, theres a loada cmments here about nirvana, i'm a massive nirvana fan so i ain't having a go at anyone but.........................i think mudhoney are the best grunge band EVER!

  • na, alice in chains are

  • I hate the term grunge. It's way too refined. A lot of the 'grunge' bands from the early 90s were really different. Most would be considered various punk offshoots anyway. And as for Alice in Chains (commenter below) , they clearly had a lot of metal influence.

  • they weren't metal. The magic of grunge is that it isnt something so closed as the other types.

  • That's precisely what i was trying to say. And i didn't mean they were metal , i said they clearly had a lot of influence from various metal genres.

  • well, sorry :) You're right then :D

  • :D. I love a fellow noise fan (Y)

  • I hate people that consider noise a bad thing. Techno is a bad thing, Rap is a bad thing, noise is expressive :D

  • Completely agree.

Real , fuzz filled , distorted noise is fun as hell!

  • Rap isn't a bad thing, I find it odd you feel Noise is and Rap isn't. Rap can be far more expressive, it just so happens not many rappers have something worth expressing.

  • You think metal is closed? Theres at least 20 sub genres of metal, idiot.

  • No , you piece of shit. They are also 3 types of grunge, and yet it is a type of punk. Can't you understand a shit ?

  • But grunge is close to metal because it's the mix of metal and punk

  • not necesserialy . It has indie references also. yeah, you're right , its a messy song betwen punk and heavy metal, wich gives a excelent song

  • in 1:25 is chris novoselic, nirvana bassist

  • Krist*

  • actually he changed his own name to Krist because of his roots (i think Croatian?) but originally he was Chris. even Kurt refers to him as Chris. not that that has anything to do with Mudhoney...

  • Yeah half Croatian, so his name is Krist, so thats why I corrected him?

  • Also at :35 if I'm not mistaken. Which I might be...

  • any one who calls nirvana melodic and soft, hasn't heard their first 2 albums.

    Mudhoney Rocks MUFF FOR LIFE

  • was that two guys kissing at 1:41...idk it looks like two guys

  • No the one on the right had tits lol

  • i see... it looks like a dude though haha

  • MOOBS! lol

  • this mudhoney video is a joke that sub pop wanted to do is that before the first second it shows a flyer that says 10 years of mudhoney but there no one there

  • Damn good band...like a cross-pollination between racous punk and psychedelia...Nirvana is kinda like that but with a poppier edge.

  • i dunno.

    i wouldnt call nirvana poppy.

some of their stuff was but for the most part it was really raw and angry sounding.

  • In a way, you're right...I guess I was reffering to an album like Nevermind in that regard.

  • hmm... yeah.

    youd be right there then.

see, i was thinking of all the other albums.

    namely bleach and in utero.

either way, theyre both rad bands.

  • nevermind/in utero

  • I disagree, they sound hella more punk than any Nirvana song, other than like Hairspray Queen or one of those screamy ones. Nirvana and the other Seattle bands are way more melodic.

  • sounds like nirvana off of nevermind.they are nasty though like a dirty needle.god bless big muff pedals.use one myself.

  • Cobain WHAT ABOUT STAYLE

    ALICE IN CHAINS 4 LIFE

  • Is it krist Novoselic in 1min25?

  • i think it is

  • Mudhoney was on Tommy boy does anyone remember??

  • no i think it was black sheep. but u got the chris farley part right.

  • ya they were on black shepp the song was "Poisoned Waters Poisons The Mind:

  • hahaha...nice video...wtf...these guys ar cool...long live grungeee....RIP Cobain

  • FODA!!!!! ESSA BANDA É A MELHOR!!!! KERO DESTRUIR TUDO!!! ehehe

  • haha we are mudhoney

  • grungeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • kings of fuzz punk!

  • kick ass song!!!!!!

  • my dad sat next to mark arm in his algebra class and he and mark had a bet about the lyrics to Lady Madonna. my dad said it was: 'lady madonna baby at your breast' and mark didnt think it said that. and it ended up my dad was right and he got 5 bucks from mark. :)

  • hah thats fucking awesome!

  • yup

  • snapon chats a lot of shite, mudhoney kick everyone's ass

  • 1:25 looks like krist!

  • hahaha....it is krist!!! awesome!!!!!!!!

  • and D'arcy 2 to the right maybe

  • they are playing AT 9:30 tonight in carrboro nc and im going to see them YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

  • I listened to Here Comes Sickness and I didn't really like it. It kind of had a rough sound to it in my opinion, like it should've been redone in my opinion.

This song is alright except it's pretty short.

From what I can tell, Mudhoney didn't seem like it was destined for greatness like Nirvana, Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and a couple others. Not to say they suck. This song's alright but at the same time, I can tell why they weren't commercially popular.

  • being comercially popular isnt crucial. and mudhoney are great:) and there songs were ment to be rough... it is grunge afterall

  • theyre playing tomorrow in boston...still not sure if i wanna see them

  • Mudhoney is playing next Friday, June 13th at Churchill's Pub in Miami

  • this music destroys what is happening in music now hands down

  • anyone know if that is Krist Novascelic at 1:25

  • it is, and a very depressed Krist as well

  • yeah it is dude

  • yep that is him

  • One majorly underrated bands of the grunge movement. Good stuff.

  • MUDHONEY RULES!!!

  • what!!have you ever heard of the stooges!spose not...rolling stones lol

  • Nirvana copied Mudhoney. silly goose.

  • I only said that's what they sound like.

  • no they didnt copy just influenced by them nirvana was still very original they didnt sound just like muhoney or any thing like that they were there own uh... silly animal thing

  • yeah, thats true, and im happy i saw them at Ilosaarirock 2006 in finland :)

  • one of the only grunge bands which survived to present day.

  • Awesome, You gotta love Mudhoney.

  • got to love the good old grunge

  • Nice and funny video. I guees it represents well the beginning of the grunge music with 1 uteerly active supporter and no more than 6 bored people around.

  • esos riffs son de steve...que bien chucha

  • Mudhoney is finger riffin' Good!

  • in this video there are Patty from Hole and Krist from Nirvana!Great!

  • Great track, and I also love the one-second bit of Depeche Mode's "Never Let Me Down Again" left at the end of the video, lol.

  • that's great!

  • awesooome!

  • does anyone know what mark and the boys have been up to lately ?

  • let ya know, gonna see them June 10 in Carrboro, NC.

  • for some reason they sound like Offspring and Nirvana mixed

  • They really do dont they!

  • Is that Chris (Krist) Novoselic at 1:24-1:25?!?

  • I just saw it right now and I thought it was, and that looks like Chad Channing a little after Krist.

  • Whoa never mind I realized it's a chick.

  • yea it is

  • Mudhoney is awesome pure Grunge... they are the best. touch me Im Sick

  • I love this band. Too bad that cornball Pearl Jam shit was the band to get big in the 90s. Everyone started saying that Neil Young was the "godfather of grunge" because of them. Bullshit! Greg Ginn was the godfather of grunge.

  • STFU ABOUT YOUR RANTING ON EVERY VIDEO.

who cares what grunge was and who the godfather was. just listen to the music ffs.

  • Who cares what you think? You like Slipknot. I'd wear a mask too if I were in such a shitty band.

  • You're only at this video because I mentioned it in the comments section of your king-shit cock rock heroes Alice in Chains.

  • relax man thats doesnt matter if he like slipknot anyways. He just says something right

  • Come on... he said that Mudhoney sounds like Nirvana mixed with The Offspring! He was arguing with me about the definition of "grunge" on another comments section, but he'd never even heard this band before.

  • YOUR FUCKIN STUPID. I listened to Mudhoney way before i had even heard of Alice In Chains. dick knuckle just shut the fuck up. and i didnt say Mudhoney sounded like Nirvana mixed with Offspring. What i was trying to say was that Offspring and Nirvana sounded sorta like them. and btw i only like Nirvana and Offsprings old school non-sell out shit.

  • nirvana never sold out

  • nirvana never sold out

  • yeah cuz once ur famous that makes u a sell out...are u retarded???

  • ur a fuckin faggot. i didnt even see ur comment on AIC and i could care less about what u fuckin think about them u asshole.

Alice In Chains was one of the best bands to ever play music on this earth. why the fuck did u diss them.

  • tht they are man aic fricken ROCK

  • aic fuckin rule your just a fuckin thundercunt who cant realize real talent when he sees it...and yes mudhoney does sound ike nirvana mixed with the offspring...thats not a diss...anyways dont be a prick man...

  • Again- the irony is that you headbanger dipshits probably had never even heard of Mudhoney until I mentioned this video on that Alice in Chains video's comments section. What the fuck do you know about music? You think that AIC are "grunge", even though they reeked of 80s metal. They even had guitar harmonics and whammy bar solos. If that's what you dig, fine... but don't pretend that it's something that it's not. Grunge was hard rock filtered through punk; AIC weren't even remotely punk.

  • listen to dirt and the st album...your telling me THAT sounded like hair metal...hahaha u truly know NOTHING about music....study up dumbfuck....mabey you wont sound like you have an iq of -4...oh and grunge is a GAY word made up for any rock band in the early 90's sg mh aic stp nirvana pj they ALL sounded WAY different...dont act like you know anything...

  • "grunge is a GAY word made up for any rock band in the early 90's sg mh aic stp nirvana pj they ALL sounded WAY different..."

Of course they sounded different- because Soundgarden, Mudhoney, and Nirvana are the only authentic bands on that list. AIC were cock rock, Pearl Jam played 70s-style arena rock, and STP were total posers. "Grunge" was a pretty stupid term, but all it originally referred to were bands who mixed underground punk rock and noise rock with hard rock + metal.

  • stupid aic ar3e hard rock plus metal...u are so gay if u think they are hair metal....my god...there really is somthing wrong in your brain...and layne never had a vocal trainer ...he was too poor..they all lived on the streets for a while ...anyways just ask any one..if aic is hair metal..or go to wikipedia...my god...

  • Look at the pictures. Then you'll finally shut up. And don't try to say that "everyone was doing glam stuff in the 80s", because that's bullshit. When AIC were a Seattle glam band, the Seattle grunge scene was already in full swing. With all the amazing music that was going on in the late 80s in the underground, a band had to be the biggest fucking dorks to even consider being a glam band.

  • If you want to come up with a real "Layne Staley Tribute", you should show footage of him from the 80s when he looked like the guy from Whitesnake.

  • so what...theres nothing wrong with thier hair metal...i like it quit being a dumbass...layne is 500 times the vocalist of this guy or kurt and so was chris and eddie...theres nothing wrong with layne or AIC they are definetly one of the more talented bands of the era...oh and actually ive known about mudhoney for years so dont tell me what i have and havent heard of...

  • "layne is 500 times the vocalist of this guy "

Yeah, taking lessons with a vocal coach because you're a poser careerist rock star will do that for you.

Anyway... it's stupid to argue about taste in music. All I was saying was that you should be honest and call AIC a hard rock/metal band, because aside from the stereotypical grungy costumes they wore onstage, they had nothing to do with "grunge". And stop sending me AIC videos, retard. I'd just as soon watch a Ratt video.

  • your so stupid....they were part of the grunge movement...go to any search site and type in aaic...u will get a bio that says they are alternative/grunge...ur so stupid they sound NOTHING LIKE HAIR METAL WTF IS WRONG IN YOUR TINY LITTLE TIC TAC BRAIN???????????????? dude...quit embarassing your self...

  • Man, you can't spell worth a shit. Hey, did you hear? When they found Layne's rotting body, there were tons of flies crawling all over him... enough of them to fill a jar. Anyway, look up "Alice in Chains glam" on Google. You should be able to find extremely embarrassing photos of the guys that will make you finally shut up.

  • Haha... I'm looking at the pictures now. Those guys had absolutely no credibility as a band. When you look that up, click on the Ebaum link that comes up first on the list of results.

  • oh im srry i didnt know your ONE screwed up opinion was right compared to the people WHO MADE THE GENRE and were around then...ur the only person in the world who thinks that three bands can make an entire genre.. and i already know they USED TO BE GLAM ...USEDTO BE being the key phrase...like in the eighties dumbfuck

  • Finally you admitted it. Anyway, that's my point- they were glam, and therefore had absolutely no credibility as a band. Some of the greatest music of all time was happening in the underground in the 80s... completely revolutionary headfuck stuff... and those morons were trying to be the next Poison. Lame.

  • You're just mad because one of your favorite bands is hair-metal. You even have a hair-metal screenname! Jesus, man... you must REALLY love hair bands to do that!

  • what are u talking about??? wow ...ill just let ur idiocracy speak for its self....

  • Yeah, this coming from a guy who just now wrote "idiocracy". Anyway, I'll let you go. I'm sure you have to go straighten the Poison and Winger posters you have hanging over your bed.

  • LOL ....your a real dumbshit...hahahaha...do u even know what music is...??? ha

  • Either Laynestaley was so upset that he got his equally-illiterate friends to come in here and defend him, or he's using multiple screen names. In either case, this is fucking hilarious. Excellent stress relief.

  • idiocrasy is a word stupid...lol

    Id`i`oc´ra`sy

    n. 1. Peculiarity of constitution; that temperament, or state of constitution, which is peculiar to a person; idiosyncrasy.

  • are u stupid...? aic arent hair metal this band sux compared to them...jesus...they were part of the grunge movement everyone knows that...lol

  • "this band sux compared to them"

Of course you'd think so, because you're mainly into hair bands. If Mudhoney added a cheeseball high-pitched guitar squeal at the end of their solo like Alice In Chains liked to do, you'd probably be more into them...

  • lol ur so gay...hair metal sux ...and so does your ear for music...mabey if this guy could actually PLAY his guitar it might sound better...being grunge doesnt mean u have to suck....lol ur a sad person..

  • By "actually play", do you mean playing a cheesy Alice In Chains-style guitar solo that sounds like it belongs on an 80s Ozzy record?
