This bike has less horsepower and less torque than the 2010 Z1000. But KTM is also lighter, Z1000 has the ABS and the KTM don't. Simply, the KTM is a twin so top speed will be smaller than z1000 which is an inline four. To me, Z1000 looks better then, it's your personal opinion. Hope it helps
You know what sounds even better than the exhaust??? The lack of that god-awful rattle of a dry clutch. I LOVE the look of the new Monster 1100 and I'm sure the new naked 1098 will look cool too. But Ducati lost me when they gave them both dry clutches. Why is Ducati stuck on that? I know the new 696 monster is wet and so is the new 848 (basically their new motors) but damn-it I want a big Ducati without that fucking rattle!!! Well it's Superduke in the spring then. Fuck You Ducati!
Is a weird sound if you don't know what it is but it only rattles when idling in neutral with the clutch out. With the clutch pulled in or when riding and the clutch is engaged there is no rattle. The reason they use a dry clutch is because it is a more direct connection to the rear wheel, it translates and lays the power down better, on the downside, they wear out faster and make that famous noise. But performance wise it's better, even though grabby!
"More direct connection....."??? No its not more direct. Wet is smoother and easier to modulate. Ducati use dry because Ducatisti "like and expect it". Sounds fucking horrible and I own ducs.
No they don't use it becasue Ducatisti expect it. The 848 for example has a wet clutch. Once again, a dry clutch has a PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE because it is a direct connection when locked up to the rear wheel, aka, more horsepower to the ground, aka no oil between the clutch plates. The downside to that is they wear out quicker and are grabby. Yes a wet clutch is smoother and and easier to modulate but that isn't what a ducati superbike is built for now is it? Like to know what duc you ride?
damn that sounds amazing.. i love KTM bikes especially the duke and the superduke... btw i think that the ktm 990 superduke R comes with akrapovic pipes ;)
@3187934 lätt de fetaste ljuder på en super duke r med dom piporna, hade 2009a r men bytte upp mig till rc8, sjukt fina V twins! synd bara att växel lådorna är hårda, inte direkt mjuk å lent men med vilja så går det bra

do you still have the bike? do you still have fun on it, or do you have the necessity to upgrade for a bigger bike?
my point is...when years go by, can you still enjoy the bike, or does it get boring?

Just bought a new R version, The Z does not have anything even close to the handling. Also twins deliver power very differently.

It is best sounding exhaust for Superduke 990 so far and having a full pipe
(comes stock on Superduke R) system does makes it sounds a lot
louder & tighter as opposed to standard Superduke. Awesome man!

Those pipes sound awesome, but I haven't seem them anywhere stateside. Do you know if they are available in the US?
