WR19 fan jet engine was patented in 1968, so the Patent expired in 1988, the application US Patent number is 4,447,024 which is the WASP one; US Military,Navy,Marines,Army, Air Force all have copies of this WR 19... Serial number 3 is in the Smithsonian and serial Number 4 is at SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, in 1967-68 every one wanted to play with this Technological break through, this engine is 67 pounds and puts out the same thrust as a civilian jet air craft which weighs 300 pounds...
I stay up late at night searching thousands of Youtube videos looking for gems like this one to really grab my attention and give a few minutes release from my financial problems and regrets in life. Thank you!
I don't have the original footage I didn't edit it. That's all I had from a TV story that showed this footage and said it was rocket powered and that turbine backpacks had never been built!
If you saw the full original footage then YOU go put it up
things like jetpacks, and car egines what work on water do excist... but they will never get on the market for sale. why? because the governments won't get their piece of profit out of that...
Jet packs are absurdly expensive and incredibly inefficient and astoundingly dangerous.
People have an enormous difficultly judging speed and distance on a pushbike or car, let alone moving in 3 dimensions in a vehicle that is incapable of gliding or autorotating.
It has NOTHING to do with government. Govts would make plenty of money from sales tax and fuel excise just as they do for any other motorised transport . The issue is simply safety and economics
Severely enlarged testicles on these pilots. An engine failure on any of these aircraft was going to hurt and that's all there was to it. Good chance of a fatal kind of hurt in fact.
Hi Jarrod. I hope he succeeds in getting it to work well.
From all accounts the WR19 felt sluggish compared to the rocket belt so if your dad can improve on that it would be cool.
I'd love to try to build one but am quite satisfied with hang-gliding and know I can stay up for hours if I feel like it. (And don't have the cash to throw around)
The rocket belt and jet packs are incredibly spectacular.
Say hello to your dad from me. I've watched heaps of his flights on vid.
very interesting from beginning to end. Fascinating to see the a variety of jet crafts in motion...and just to think that these are only the unclassified selection
I like the video, but all of them (brute power lifting devices) really are the noisiest possible way to set fire to a lot of money, and possibly oneself, of course,

My dad Eric Scott flies the H2O2 Model and is now working on rebuilding a Jet Turbine Engine Model with two Mini Turbines with vectored jets!

i see in the hillier platform a segway, imagine the fun and the noise, real men in this video as the audience members don't cover their ears!
i know that bell jet pack is one of the nosiest things i have heard for its size, possibly even worse than small yapping dogs

@leokimvideo
Nah, nothing worse than small yapping dogs...except perhaps eating them.
