I hear a lot of arguing but how exactly did they make this if it is fake? no one seems to have explained or pointed out where to find out. everyone has theories but they (Nokia?) left people good reason to believe it's real on this one.

its bruce lee, you can tell by the way he moves his numchucks, and when he does the spin, also coz he beats them and the chinese are the best at ping pong (or table tennis)!

a combination of both. it's possible that it is old footage of bruce from game of death with the nunchucks, but more likely it's a stunt double doing the nunchuck work pasted on top someone playing ping pong.

either way this commercial is brilliant.

At all the rallies, Li hits the ball with an additional downward motion to slow the ball down when it contacted with the table, and when Li wanted to end the rally he just hit it with forward motion. Watch how the first rally ended and how fast the ball actually was going without backspin.

If folks saying its fake played pingpong they'd realise you could make backspin that could reverse the ball even with a naked pad, let alone a curved object that could easy accelerate spin at one end (bottom side) of the ball to give it extremely strong backspin.

I believe it's actually possible for a martial artist to do this, but as one said before, the ball slows down every time it hits the table. Probably because if this WERE real, the velocity the ball gains from the hit made by the nunchaku would be by far superior to the pingis player's. It would fly off the table in a split second basically :p

I highly doubt it can be real. Even if it was, those two guys aren't playing as fast as they can. If yo watch the table tennis in olympics, the ball moves much faster than that. The first guy playing him is probably Ma Lin - the Beijing table tennis gold medalist.
