O for the days of fmv cinematics. It makes me think of bad cosplays I've seen. But I love these old fmvs. check out the endings for the original twisted metal. Hi-freaking-larious.
resident evil was my second game (next to tomb raider) on psx and it blew me away, it was awesome, (although i've never found the big spiders in that hall, and was to hard to play out)
i love the way the narator says "ALBERRRRT WESKEEEERRR" and "RESIDENT EVIIIIILLLL" haha awesome good ol' times, lol the intro music is great,i love the drums in the end
ahh...classic. I still love to play my old saved game on the ps1 to this day. I cant believe I hardly got past the first 20 mins of the game when i was little playing this. LOL it took me like 5 hours cuz all i did was walk super slow around each corner i was so afraid to play this when i was young. Now i can beat it in 2 days if i play it now.
@mrbadman59 3 months ago. I just beat it again recently under 2 hours. like 1 hour and 20 minutes cuz i wantewd to unlock the rocket launcher so i ran through the game XD
I dont remember the intro being as graphic back in the day, i guess cause by the time I got around to getting a playstation they edited the intro and took the fun out...the actors i think are really spot on for their characters, of course the acting could benefit from some attention...I tried looking for gear to replicate the STARS look, the vest and such but never can, any cosplay ppl out there who have any ideas
The intro is bullshit. You can't outrun a dog, I don't care HOW zombified it is. That thing should have bitten the shit out of Jills leg. She was the slowest runner after all- just look at the video. They should have cleared these factual inaccuracies before making it. 8-D
lol at wesker being johnny bravo...lol at jill showin chirs her tits too lol. yeah this game was the shit, i remember being late to work everyday between this and RE2. it got redundant after RE3 and i moved on to silent hill. silent hill scared the fuck outta me back then to the point i felt haunted until i finished the game.
man i remembered when i first bought the first PSX and those oversizes psx game cases lol thjis is the best intro to a video game ever, its like a fucking movie, i love watching this
it's a matter of context, like for example violence that is perhaps tame by exploitation is extremely disturbing at an individual level (like the talented mr ripley)in scenarios you can relate too, and at a individual scale. Like this intro hardly evokes intense fear in me, since i am not wracked in constant fear that a pack of ravenous feral zombie hounds are about to devour me. Its not going to happen.
the acting is so pathetically bad (it's good) ,the blood so ketchup like, and choreography so confused that it's not in the slightest bit disturbing. The ratings board's interpretation of what constitutes extreme violence is slightly basic. I was watching the talented mr ripley the other day and the scene where jude law's character gushes blood from a ruptureed temple was more unsettling that all the violence in all the resident evil's combined
the acting swings between hilarity and being genuinely painful to listen to. It is Cheese Cheese Cheese, but an unforgetable classic. I feel immersed in nostalgia just watching it. This game had a certain charm and charisma that no amount of high tech obscenely detailed graphics can ever hope to replicate
according to Wiki: "Capcom claimed the omission was the result of a localization mistake made by the developers and offered the uncensored intro as a free download from their website as an appeasement." Simply put, it was a transation error between Capcom US and the Japanese Capcom offices. 'Nuff said.
Oh wait, we did get.... On the PC version! The time we actually get it, it ends up being on the worst console for any port, the fucking PC. PC ports suck ass.
The fact of the matter is, they did and yet still U.S. gamers don't get the uncensored opening that they was promised since Director's Cut. After all these years, the U.S. only gets half of what was uncensored in RE1. That is such bullshit.
You know something, they finally put the "decapitation of Kenneth Sullivan" cutscene (Which along with the opening, was censored in both the original and Director's Cut releases in the U.S.) in the U.S. version's DS port. Why couldn't they add this too as well to the DS version? I thought Capcom and the ESRB had come to terms with these cutscenes years ago?
Gore movies in the 70's were way more graphic than this intro. I'm just disappointed that they didn't put the uncensord intro in the Nintendo DS version. DAMN!
There were a couple of reasons this version of the video didn't get put into the original PSX game; one, SCEA thought that when Joseph got killed, they thought that it was too graphic, two at that time Sony didn't allow smoking in their games (until Metal Gear Solid came out where you can smoke in that game so Sony bit the bullet on that game and allowed their games to have smoking in them).
that is so crazy, it's actually not that graffic, I have seen a lot worse. I can beat those hunters any day of the week but I hate those damn MUTS. This is such a great story line though =)
