I cant do this at all. My computer does not register my kobo. It appears as a removable disc and I get the error message "please insert a disc into removable disc(G:) if i try to drag and drop books into it. Its REALLY pissing me off.
So, do I have this correct? Can I in Canada buy & download to my PC in Canada, a Barnes & Noble ebook for the Nook ereader from the USA, then transfer it to my Kobo in Canada and have it work properly? Thx.
@manitouwadge Yes you can, you can buy EPUB ebooks from any store online and then use Adobe Digital Editions to transfer them to your device. This allows you to shop around for the best prices or find books not available on Kobo.
Around 5:00 you said that adobe works with books purchased from other stores...etc. well i used to read on my iphone and i ave acouple of books from itunes, any help there ? it'd be a shame i mean i paid for them i wanna have them on my reader as well. :)
For some reason, the editing in calibre is not transferring properly to Kobo touch. I don't know why, but some books do not have properly added titles, authors or covers.
@Ermal8711 This is a unknown bug. Some people find they have luck factory defaulting their kobo and then using calibre. But lots of people have success not using caliber to transfer books to their device and instead using Adobe Digital Editions.
This is awesome - thanks so much for the tutorial! Just downloaded a bunch of books from files to my new Kobo and can't wait to start reading! Thanks again!
@machprime No this e-reader does not read the MOBI format, you will have to convert them using calibre. We have a video in our youtube channel that teaches you how to do it.
Thank you so much for the video! This is very informative. I am still trying to figure out if this Kobo can read Chinese books. Please respond to this message if anyone knows. Thanks!
I'm looking to order one of these soon, so this video was very informative. Thank you. :)
Also, I believe it's possible to add books to the shortlist from the library without opening them first... simply touch the heart icon to the left of the cover art, as shown in list view.
This was so helpful! Thank you so much. :D
