I just bought a Multimix8 USB2.0 & connected to my laptop via USB cable. I want to record 2 channels ( MIC & my computer's sound which is a youtube.com's video sound. ) for a Karaoke song. I can Select & record all the inputs, but not the Computer sound in Cubase LE4. In my mixer , I just have the MIC1 attached with the Mixer. Please advice what should i select as the input connection in Cubase LE4.
I am new to this. Bought the Mixer for my Karaoke passion.
One more question, you have a serious high pitch steadily fast chirping going on in your video. Can you pin point what that is,. it it in the video recording, or is it in the audio recording. What is generating it?
EXCELLENT question. I recorded this vid on my MacBook using the internal cam/mic. I use Screenflow to capture it. I get some weird clicky-squealy-chirpy thing going on. Any ideas on how to stop that annoying sound?
Thr another short video test recording the same way but unplug the power supply from the mac. It might be a ground issue. If you still have that chirping, It may be the internal mic picking up computer HD or some electrical impluses from the mac, thats what that steady chirp sounds like. So the actual audio recording from the auido setup doesnt record that chirp?
Oh, it may also be the screens backlight florescent lamps frequency being picked up by the internal mic which I think is at the top of the screen next to the cam. Check that the frequency is set to 60Hz. You can also try to send your screen to an external monitor & disable the laptops screen & see if it still happens. Also try changing the brightness level of your monitor as you record, the chirp may change speed or pitch, telling you right away,. thats the ticket! (TLDO is an AV tech)
Im lookin for a wirewire Interface that has midi, ADAT, and your basic inputs,. I I heard that the inputs,(Not these on the unit) Should be INST, for instrument, and not line,. for good instrument recording. Is that true, and would an effects processor with speaker emulater serve the same purpose?Obvously Im gonna spend upward of a grand.. The comes the Digidesign 003 rack,. Im a bit lost,..
I learned it back to front and master it's operation.
I'm unimpressed. Pro Tools completely handcuffed me and doesn't let me go any further. The preamps on the 003 rack were pretty impressive, but NOT worth sticking with Pro Tools because of them.
Its a pretty new product so there isnt much out there yet but I think I'm going to take the plunge tomorrow, return the Projectmix I bought on Saturday that's defective (lame!), and pick this up. It doesn't have the LCDs which is a bummer but the Projectmix has awful DACs. I'm pumped about the ADATx2 as well as the ability to do surround, which the projectmix cannot.

it's good for mic/line/instruments.
I've had no issues what so ever.
very loud and clean inputs.
Lots of headroom.
I've done my stint with Pro Tools.
I learned it back to front and master it's operation.
I'm unimpressed. Pro Tools completely handcuffed me and doesn't let me go any further. The preamps on the 003 rack were pretty impressive, but NOT worth sticking with Pro Tools because of them.
I'm thoroughly diggin the Master Control.
