  • If this game would have been released and Sunsoft had license to make this a Superman game,It would have been a damn good Superman game.Despite this having few flaws,It would have been better than the Actual NES Superman game and maybe it could have even surpassed that horrible N64 Superman 64.

  • hey filmnstuff have u ever tried fallout new vegas, rage or prey 2 they are all really cool game u should calm ur nerves with them :)

  • What was it with Sunsoft losing rights to licenses? We almost had an awesome Terminator NES game until it got changed into Journey to Silius.

  • Great review!

  • All of your reviews are shit, this is no exception.

  • @walkamileforyou is that why he has 2,929 subscribers and you have 0?

  • @deadlegos129 That is easily explained, there are 7 billion people on the earth, there is roughly 3000 with a scat fetish. Seems like a low percentage of sick fuckers who enjoy shit right? I hope this guys channel is an undercover sting operation by the FBI sex crime unit to weed you all out and put you all in asylums like the sub-retarded trash you are.

  • @walkamileforyou COOL STORY BRO doesnt change the fact that you're a troll and you are probably one of the 3000 with a scat fetish

  • @deadlegos129 Talk is cheap right, I'm not subscribed to this shit-sucking faggot.... how about you? LOL!

  • You whine A LOT , the music is very good as expected by just about any SUNSOFT game.

The hit detection on the player's lower parts is probably to make up for the reach of the punches.

You can't hit enemies in level with your feet,

so why should they hit you? that'd be very annoying :P

Also some collisions are revoked from the player as he's damaged so you don't get stuck by a tedious enemy pattern or such.

Oh ,and you timed your punches wrong :P

You can't hit enemies when they're out of reach.

  • The music sounds alright to me.

  • The music is amazing in this game! It's Jazzy and reminds me very much of 1960's style superhero movies! Isn't that what it's supposed to do anyways?

  • :( i like teh mushik

  • sunsoft usually offers good music. Maybe this game wasn't complete because music wasn't finished

  • @arthas702 The music is finished, the music is VERY GOOD!

  • I have this game, but the music isn't that bad. Your version of the music is somewhat altered for some reason.

  • i have this game on a cartridge and its a really old cartridge just found out it was never released but i have it lol

  • @Ongakumm Thats impossible to have a game htat wasn't released. It's been available ONLY recently as a reproduction.

  • @mistertitanic well i have the cartridge i can post pictures of it, the game doesnt play as nicely as the one on the video it has a lot of corrupted tiles but its sunman no doubt about it. I also have mr gimmick in a dubious condition but at least that got released. I just wonder how the previous owner of the cartridges got them.

  • @Ongakumm I have a cart of Sunman as well, but the real reproduction. I would sure like to see those games of yours though.

  • the drums are good

  • it just pays to run away!

  • about the ability to go through the levels without fighting........ whats the problem?

if you want to fight the guys, fight them

if you just want to rush and not bother at all, you can do that to

    they gave you more choices

  • what is so bad about superman 64? i liked that game, it was fun and it was a large part of my childhood, the only problem was finding the bomb darkside hid, i played it on last level to avoid flying through the hoops, please do a reveiw on it

  • @skullbuster1220 the fact that the game ends oddly, the game wasn't how the creators wanted it, and the license was from the old cartoon, and why would superman fly though rings? you can marry the game if you want, but one thing that people dont like is the grapix (unfairly, for that time that was the shiz) the old controls, and the ending

  • @yofune99 why the hell would i marry a game?!? its not my favorite game, i just didnt see anything wrong with it

  • @skullbuster1220 but is the true awnser "why not?"

  • @skullbuster1220 What's wrong about Superman 64? Well, let's see, there's the overresponsive controls, the horse shit graphics, the stock music, the lack of a decent plot line, the monotonous gameplay, the idiotic eyesore ending, and the overall mediocrity.

  • a vast majority of the errors you found do seem to be development issues that would have been resolved with final polish

  • Review Sweet Home, Its the best game for NES.

  • Hey, the music sounded catchy to me.

  • music sounds great

  • Reminds me a bit of Sunsoft's Batman.

  • yes its stupid and this was the reason why they cancelled that game.

  • @wokomania

Nice logically evaluation you have there.Maybe because the SNES was released in 1991 and the nes was being dropped in America might be a reason why it was canceled?

  • @SgtThom opinions are always far apart. ;)

  • uhm, didn't he give the game a lot of credit at the end?.

I mean yeah, its unfinished, but that's a problem to the game, you can't expect this to be on par with games like Legend of Zelda or Super Mario bros or even Castlevania >.>

be fair to the game and to the review damn it! the game is not bad and even filmstuff said its a great game as an super hero type, what the fuck more do you want?

  • Wow look at all the whiners here complaining about the profanity. Maybe its because I grew up in a family that had sailor mouths, but it doesn't bother me at all and it gives a more "extreme" impression. I like it, but I probably have shit taste in a lot of stuff, so whatever. Really like your reviews though. Goes to show that people shouldn't settle for shitty game design in the hopes of a company getting some quick cash (Referring to your other reviews of course). Keep it up!

  • "Here is an unreleased video game by Sunsoft, it is a prototype, and it probably isn't right to review it, but here we go."

"WOW WAT AN UGLY FUCK FUCK FUCKING ASS THUMB UP MY ASS FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK"

and the music is good you faggot

  • This is the first review i saw that you said the game was good.

  • Your constant (and gratuitous) use of profanity is nothing more than a LOUD disclaimer stating: "I HAVE A LIMITED GRASP ON MY NATIVE LANGUAGE"!

I'm not at all against "swearing" but you sound like an ABSOLUTE IGNORAMUS. You offer NOTHING of worth...You are an imbecile. Just another AVERAGE (I'd actually say LESS than average) dumb American with nothing original to say.

  • I talked to the musician of this game. I don't think he'd like what you said about the music. Just saying.

  • Wow a nes game with profanity! Thats not something you see everyday.

  • I have a copy of this game!!! I'm not lying!!!!

  • Wow...

Could you possibly complain any more? "No powerups, bad hit detection" OMG END OF THE WORLD

It was an INCOMPLETE game! What do you expect?! Sure it probably had potential, but it was never finished, thus the lack of features. Do me a favor and never review an incomplete game again, you sound like a moron with all your complaining.

  • Interresting how big was the sprites on this game... the 16bits comment is justified... the music is good, it sounds Sunsoft.

  • I actually really like the music.

  • This game looks like it had a lot of potential, it's too bad it was never finished. Maybe the lack of powerups and abilities, the hit detection issues and other problems were meant to be tweaked near the end of it's development but Sunsoft never got a chance to do it, shame. The graphics are awesome though, in true Sunsoft style, almost as good as Return of the Joker.

  • Insted of adding power ups to idiot proof the game, just play better.

  • Loving these videos of yours dude!

    You've gained yourself a subscriber!!!!

  • Sunsoft did a Superman game for the Sega Genesis around the same time that was OK, but felt like it needed some more development.

  • you can actually play the superman 2 game on vnes...but i think that the sunman version is better

  • EIM (the Japanese company Sunsoft had employed to make games) backed out of the Superman deal because DC Comics would insist that "Superman can't be damaged, Superman can't die"... which doesn't really work as a game.

For more info, check out the Kenji Eno interview on 1up (easy to find on Google).

  • EIM should have gone ahead and made this using the Superman license. It probably wouldn't have been the best Supes game, but probably not the worst, either. Also, LOL at the Engrish wtih "Megaro (Megalo) City!" and "Grate! Sunman!"

I also assume since the game was incomplete and later cancelled, the programmers didn't have time to add power-ups (but did manage to squeeze in some limited continues).

  • Well, the whole reason this game is called Sun Man and not Superman is because the license fell through (like I said). But yeah, it's not a bad game - much worse titles got released. I think EIM just weren't able to get it together on their own. The "company" was kind of a mess.

  • Ironically, Sunsoft would eventually make a Superman game in-house on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive a year later.

  • not a bad game. Too bad it was meant to be Superman

  • sunsoft made sunman.i see somthing noticeible SUNsoft SUNman.who ever does not seee is dumber than a piece of shit

  • I find it hard to believe that this game has bad music since SUNSOFT is known for having great music in a lot of their games.

  • True, coruscant100. But like filmnstuff said, "The hit detection. No power ups to regain your health. And no collecting 1ups". So I think the game just didn't get finished and they couldn't find good music in time.

  • The game was not developed by Sunsoft. They hired EIM (now defunct) to develope this game. The composer of this game used a different music engine than Sunsoft's in house musicians.

  • I have the soundtrack to this game on Winamp as an NSF file, and I'd say the soundtrack is alright: not the best, but not the worst, either.

  • True, I have heard worse music on the NES than this, but it still could have been better.

  • I kinda wish that Sunman was Sunsoft's mascot instead of Aero the Acrobat.

  • I agree with you. SUNMAN was actually created by the Japanese for Sunsoft as their mascot. But since the game is NOT released, Sunsoft had to rely on the AMERICANS to create a mascot, so they relyed on Iguana Entertainment, an AMERICAN developer to create Sunsoft's mascot. I think it was a STUPID decision to cancel this game!

  • I thought Sunman was from the cover of the Raisin Bran cereal box for some reason.

  • What made you think that, coruscant100?

  • That was the first thing that came to my mind when I first heard of Sunman.

  • If you go Gamereproductions, you can find Sunman on an NES cartridge for $27.50.

  • @CougarLeon but isn't buying games that don't exist illeagle? because it's like buying boot-latte CDs

  • one thing I noticed looking at this was that the level with closing gates that you have to punch down strongly resembles a game called Rockman Zero, or MegaMan Zero, the first one, in which you have to escort a human out by shooting down doors in a startlingly similar level layout. Even the enemy turrets were rehashed. really really odd...

  • Lol Grate Sunman!! XD

  • Sunman is awesome, especially for an unreleased game.

...But every time I hear "Sunman," I conjure up the image of a big fat jolly looking Sun with glasses and a cape.

  • If this had actually been a super man game then it'd be one of the only good super man games ever.

  • take a bar of soap and stick it in your nasty mouth!! no matter what the begining says wash out your mouth LAMEO

  • yeah if they released this as superman on the nes.....then they could throw out that other lame one

  • the music sounds like it runs in 50hz and not 60hz..

Wasn't this game released in Japan?

Anyway it's bad that it never was released..

    Great review :)

  • Dude, Sunman looks awesome!

  • That train level looked superb for an NES game.

  • the Prototype product looks very similar to the finished (superman game) version SUnsoft released for sega

  • This game is what the other superman by sunsoft should have been.

  • first again lol awsome

  • A slightly altered version of this video is available at my Livevideo account.
