Just set this up and things are going relatively well. Unfortunately, switching from Active Project view to All Projects also shows me all of my completed projects. I'm thinking I can get around this with a combination of Perspectives and the new Archive feature in OF, but still figuring it all out.
thanks for posting, this was v.useful - I was looking for a way to prevent items in my incubate folder from coming up in the contexts list - one drawback of this method, however is that you can't select the inactive projects using the quick task pane; do you find this a nuisance?
Thanks shedali. Acutely i didn't even know they didn't show in the quick entry list, as i rarely use it. I use a digital voice recorder to capture stuff for my inbox, then process it later. The only time i use the quick entry box is if it's more convenient than reaching for the recorder. it also saves a step later.
hey, great videos on OmniFocus. fyi, the 1.0 release doesn't seem to let you mark a folder as inactive. only projects and contexts can be marked inactive.
Thats Strange... I have 1.0 and it still works for me. Instead of Right Clicking and deselecting "Active" try choosing "Dropped". Yea, i just tried again, it def still works on my end.
Thanks for the tips on using OmniFocus, I've been waiting for them to put out another video because I'm new to GTD and want to get good at organizing everything. I like OmniFocus so far, I'm still processing after a few days of collecting.
Cheers for the tips.
Nb, the nomenclature has changed.
To do this under the most recent version,
Create a ƒolder. R-click & mark it as "dropped"
To view it, in projects, choose "All Projects" (from the inspector's upper-lefthand-side menu)
Voila.
Cheers again for the tutorials dude :¬]
