salam alaik...did you re-use your thermal pads on you vram? I'm planning to try the oven trick with my 8800gts too..however its very hard to get a new thermal pads here.I wonder if its ok to reuse the thermal pads
@nakariri Wa'alaikum Salam, Yes i use reused the thermal pads for the ram. Just make sure you take them off including any stickers and replace them after. If you are planning to do this then you should note that the card might stop working again after a while so you will have to do it again. This has happened with a PS3 and one of my graphics cards.
@qamaruc Wow.. ok. thats good to know...how about this particular 8800GT? is it still working now? how often do you have to do this? (If its too often I might just save the hassle and get a new card)
@qamaruc yep.. your right..it just happened again to my graphic card.. and its only has been a month ago since i used the oven trick on it! well, I baked my graphic card again today.... got it working again. hopefully it wont happen again... :(
@ukenTV Reballing cost is usually half the price of GPU and MAY not help for long, either bake your card - not much to loose - or if you got to invest cash - buy new, better one.
I tried the oven trick today and i really, really work!! thanks! my 8800gts is back to life again!!!

I have tried this 3 times with 3 different graphic cards, and they all remained the same,is it perhaps because I have a gas cooker?

better way to repair your card is to reball the gpu

The reason is a for 8xxx series failure is a BGA balls of the GPU.
Nvidia applied the wrong balls an the GPU chip is a desoldering.
The oven trick is melts the balls and they are re-soldering.
I'm repaired with this method 8600GTS ang 8800GTS 640MB.
