at 7:43 Obama contradicts himself bigtime, "stop giving tax breaks to those companies who ship jobs overseas, so were giving tax breaks to companies investing in the united states" a business will be taxed as such, just as ever other business. If you raise the taxes on american companies, they will begin to ship MORE jobs overseas why would they bother to stay here if their taxes to compete in a global market would be extraordinarily high, when they can operate in china & india for so much less?
and to add to that, one of the first things that Sen. Obama did the moment he stepped onto Capitol Hill was, to fight for the security of workers pensions ect., instead of the CEO's financial blanket.
95% Americans receive a tax cut, the top 5 percent (250K and higher) pay a higher tax. Now with a 9 trillion dollar national debt someone has to pay down the deficit. It's makes no sense to tax the middle and lower classes with a major downturn in the economy. Now a huge part of why we are fighting for our financial lifes, is because John McCain and neo cons think that de-reg'ing will fix the markets problem, in turn what really happened greed dominated Wall Street and joe blow is paying for it

I dont know why americans are frightened by nationalised health care. We in the UK have it (so do the french) and it works just fine. Everyone, even the destitute get treated. If the current system in America is so great, why does the USA lie so low in national rankings in terms of health care?
I'm sorry but nationalized health care, come on, look to the north. The wealthy Canadian people come here for hospital procedures cause cause they get put on long waiting lists to get things done. Some of the wealthy ones even come here, paying with cash out of their own pockets. The US will turn into a long waiting line for ppl. Even with that alright the economy is falling apart which is run by the gov't, and we want to give more power to them? It seems absurd to me. bordering socialism
The moderator is obviously trying to create an actual debate, but such a thing hasn't happened to over a decade... but we need it! If you talk about McCain like he isn't in the room there is a separation created that allows him to not be accountable for his past votes.

Exactly, environmental and economic regulations of corporations should be the way to go, but that's not what the major parties in our country have really ever supported. We create monopolies and support every whim of corporate power, rather than support either a truly free market or regulation of corporations.

The Mere fact that we as the Greatest Country in the World, we do not control our own Monetary System. When you let Private Banks run yr monetary system and not their own free Market then you get this result. America should let the freemarket operate itself and the American Gov should print it's own Money, backed by the gold standard and tax payers. The Freemarket will regulate itself.

Unlike Mccain who wants to give only the upper 5% the tax break, and let everyone else be patient with the "trickle down."
