@stevensartifacts well old school sweep(10th planet) you grab the foot, looked liked he was reaching for a c cup on the thigh to pull it over. either way..its kinda like how many licks does it take.......no one will ever know......i just know there is alot you can do from lockdown, plan b, old school, stoner control, whip up
@stevensartifacts It's an electric chair sweep. It's mostly used when your opponent posts out their leg to avoid the old school sweep. If you want to get an in depth look at the move I highly suggest checking out submissions 101's video.
I actually got my knee (the one over his shoulder) popped through this move. Didnt think much of the actual move until i noticed my knee was being forcffully rotated and by the time i tapped is when i felt it pop. i have a strained MCL from it. Really sucks.
hell yeah bcuz of that move i think i my blue its wicked i nail it 99% of the x but i have hard x nailing the under hook tho and there is a risk of getting choked tho if ur not deep
damn crossfacing is a pain. i don't care if i lose. i protect my ears at all times. my friends have messed up ears i really didn't want it. n e ways good execution
I spent the first 2 minutes of this video trying to remember what the electric chair was. Then I saw you in half guard and thought "why doesn't just... oh there he goes." Good work, that guy looked pretty tough.
It's a 10th planet submission that is adopted from a wrestling move known as the banana split. You basically force someone into doing a split against their will....
It all depends on their flexibility. As Eddie said in his recent video on the Electric Chair move: "If the guy's been doin' ballet since he was 2 years old, the guy won't tap."
yea if you have really good flexibility and you can do the splits with no problems at all then you likely won't have to tap to this. however, this move transfers into quite a few other moves including back control, so it's not a big deal either way
@stevenmoreno Its NOT a 10th planet submission. Its actually a wrestling technique that pre-dates bjj by more than 2000 years going back to the days of Greek Pankration. 10th Planet just gave it a name much like various other techniques.
@stevenmoreno It can also turn into a knee lock if your strong enough. I was at 10th planet riverside last week and got put in the electric chair. I am flexible enough to do the splits both ways, so instead of it attacking my groin it attacked the knee that was in the lock down. Needless to say i prolly need surgery on it now. It is a serious submission.
@BadBlueBoy213 That's like saying you got neck cramps because someone put you in an Arm Triangle. If you learn to tap quick enough these things don't happen.
LOL a bit after 1:30 the dude started getting mad because he couldn't get out of the lockdown hahaha

That guy in the striped shorts seems wild, not too much control of his techniques. I wouldn't roll with him. Great sub.

The 10th Planet team seems like a great group of guys, and great coaches/team mates. I can't wait to move somewhere with a 10th planet gym.

@stevenmoreno So can the electric chair work against a very flexible opponent who can naturally do a split to begin with?
kanguesso 1 year ago
@kanguesso generally...no. But when it fails, it becomes a transition to take your opponent's back
