I was about 15 people back from the front and the energy was incredible. At least where I was there were mostly girls and I'm 6 feet tall so elbows were not really a problem and it was so packed no one was trying to get any closer. In fact I would have killed for a bottle of water.

People up front kill you to push forward. Sharp elbows keep them in check, and getting to that gate and holding tight ensures nobody screws with u.
