Marr's ending comments to the question of the Smith's getting back together are joined with facial expressions that are quite telling- at that time, for Marr at least, it seemed like there were a lot of unanswered questions, and confusion about the whole thing.
marr was the one who broke up the band. he got tired of morrisseys shit. but he says he still misses him as a person. they had an intense relationship, but morrissey is unmanagable and asked marr to sack a shit load of managers and it was too much for him
Somehow his best music he wrote with the Smiths. Morrisseys aura must have been extremely inspiring. MArr is only "half a person" when it comes to writing creativity wihtout MOrrissey!!!
Morrissey is not narcisist, he says what he thinks, he isnt going to hold back as to not offend people, that is not narcissism, thats called having balls.
I love the Smiths and Morrissey independently, and I strongly agree with most of your commentary. Every will agree this was an Ebony/Ivory, 50/50 situation. But the Moz is a long admitted narcisist. He would tell you today that he is a narcisist. It is written all over his music and his personal interviews. I love everything that has come from the bands work, and I am glad that you are a fan too. Cheers.
It's got nothing to do with technical ability; it's all about the creativity. Johnny has very interesting influences which is why the sound is so original.
well lets not go into the meaning of the word illiterate...However, your comment is not what I am concerned about. And again...you MIGHT not like the smiths....but again make your assumptions.
as for the American comment...so pathetic. so sad. coz Im sure every freaking european is educated while they sit on their asses and get checks from their nation-state.
now see I dont really mean but I am saying to make a piont about you annoying u R.
its logical to appreciate good music. but it seems like you are far to busy being an ass instead of thinking. Dont worry about it. spellcheck for youtube. lol.
again, you might not like (emotional) the smiths but you have to admit that marr wrote great tune (logical). and the word logic can be connected to anything. You believe in god (emotion) but logically it doesnt exist.
I know people that HATE the smiths but coz they play guitar n r musicians, they appreciate marr's playing.
observe how the sheeple with names like w00oo00oot will get upset and angry at spelling grammatical errors regardless of the fact that the point is made.
again you are mistaking emotion (ENJOY) with logic (technique, hard guitar riffs) but its okay coz most people make that mistake.
so again, to make it clear to you. I might not ENJOY listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn, but I can listen to it and appreciate its excellent guitar playing.
when you say anyone can LEARN guitar, thats like saying anyone can JUMP. yea thanks for the revelation. so again..
first learn the difference between words and after that try to argue.
"infected" (the the) album is 86 and "windows of the world" (the pretenders) from 88... can be from this years... and it's the same haircut too at the same age...

Are you kidding me? Very happy? Wanted to play with Matt. I am sure he is modest, cause he walked away from an Icon. Bad move. Marr, you are a lost soul
Why can't people get over The Smiths breakup. It's been 21 years, now...
Why can't you take Marr at his word, that if The Smiths had stayed together the work would have been less and less inspired? He was there, he knows how he felt. I think he knew what he was walking away from. I'm pretty sure he's happy with his decision.
are you kidding me. johnny marr has more personal integrity than any guitarist i've ever seen... being that he left the smiths and sticks to his guns just proves this, surely if he'd stayed YOU would just call him a sell out?
The last 10 seconds are priceless. The way Johnny looks off and bites his lip, he knew what he was saying wasn't true. The Smiths would have easily continued to be great, but he had to get out of what had become an unhealthy situation within the band. Still, you can see the uncertainty in Marr. What would the future hold? All wrapped up nicely with a shy and mishievious smile, just like his music: melancholy and sweet at the same time.
Great post. So right. What would the band sounded like, when they would have stayed together? Marr would have done some great things with The Smiths. But it doesn't matter, it is good the way it is.
well done for posting this rare clip but the year is 1989 not '87. "Mind Bomb" & "The Beat(en) Generation" didn't come out til then. it's a fab LP. The Smiths were gods. That Pretenders track is killer too and Chrissie as ever looks stunning. JM: what a player - all about the music. a songwriting and guitar-playing genius

morrisseys ability to create a song atmosphere really did help complement Marr's guitar playing
whether or not you like to admit it, Morrissey's music has also not been half as good as when he was in the Smiths.
I own all of Morrissey's albums, I am still very new to his music. But, I've begun to realize that Morrissey really is a narcissistic ass hole.
Morrissey feels his opinions take precedence over everyone else's, he's a misanthropist, and then he wonders why some people do not like him.
