I'm reading The Luxe at the moment, it's really good so far. How did you get an advanced reader copy of it? I love the Princess Diaries, I have that edition too! It's waaaay better than the new PD covers... I can't wait till the tenth book (Mia + J.P forever!!). I love Maureen Johnson, I order her books off Amazon cos I live in the UK. I just read Girl At Sea (which was amazing) and I really want to read Suite Scarlett! xx

I absolutely agree ..Sophia Copola's Marie Antoinette is so visually stunning it makes up for other lacking elements. I'd love to see Versailles in person someday.

Have you read any of Twilight yet? I bought it when they were talking about it on Pottercast, & just have devoured it in the last 9 hours. I'm a few chapters from done and your videos always make for a good distraction. Honestly, I'm not a romance book sort of girl, but the whole vampire thing makes it more compelling.

Mystery: You ought to read Stranger with my Face by Louise Duncan ( I'm not entirely sure of the spelling) but it is very exciting. I wouldn't call it literature, but intriguing and fascinating. Pseudo-philosophy even. Read it!

I love Versailles (in pictures). I've never been. My art teacher doesn't share this view; she hates Rococo. I also think Marie Antoinette, while not the best film, is so beautiful. The cinematography was great. I loved all the pastels.

How is it possible to hate Rococo? I love it completely. I want my bedroom to have a Rococo makeover. Personally I loved the endless amount of cake and champagne, and as you say, the pastels. Whenever I think of the film, the pink and blues immediately jump to mind.

She hates it because she thinks it's all too ornate. She says the people who ordered the construction of the Rococo buildings were too inconsiderate about the poverty that was outside their walls. You know, some of my favorite types of mindless/fun reading are the girl kicks butt kind. Princess or otherwise. I love the inversion of typical roles.

Which probably puts me in the minority since most such books are seemingly aimed at young/teen girls. And I am neither teen nor girl. ;)
