I'm so glad you posted this! I don't have a rice cooker right now, but this process still looks pretty simple. Hopefully I'll get a rice cooker someday, though. Thanks!
i didn't know some ppl liked burned rice---i've burned enough and eaten it, but i can't say i really liked the burned taste---cooking for the terminally distracted
@ochikeron yes, generaly they stick together but I have seen and eaten some that are sepperate. There must be some trick to do that. Ok, anyways, very nice recipes You have here, thanks for sharing.
@Velcrol Thanks. Oh, those are all exotic stuff, you know, it's hard to get or they are expensive :( Actually found how to make rice not to stick, it needs to be cooked a little bit on a skillet in oil, oil makes like a coating. Anyways, thanks for the answer.
@tekknorat I think you would start by using a different variety of rice, and adjust the rice to water ratio. I use an almost 1:1 ratio with basmati rice, and add a little oil to it. It cooks without sticking together in my rice cooker.
Thank you for going back to the basics as far as cooking rice.Rice is one of my favorite dishes even if it's just plain white rice. And,you can pretty much serve it with anything you're having too. Now,to find me one of those cool stoves and to learn enough Japenese so I know what button to press!!! ..lol
I cook rice all the time as I love it, but thanks for this video anyway. Until this week I had never heard of "Okage" rice before I will try it when I cook rice next time.
I know this video is about how to steam rice, but I have a question to the microwave-cookie recipe that I saw yesterday on your blog.. :> I was wondering if you could do a cooking-video for that recipe ? ö.ö
@Clone16165 it is the product of TOKYO GAS. their web is in japanese but they do have many models of it. it is called Pipitto Konro "ピピッとコンロ". i have a link in the description box, but i think it is only available for people who live in japan...
