i don't have a full band version, i just have the piano---i wanted to find this exact version of the song in the video---i used to have the billy corgan, linda perry and courtney love live version they played at the gay and lesbian festival in la but then my computer crash---the quality of the mp3 wasn't that good but you can tell it was a killer performance her voice and the guitars where a haunting whirlwind
i LOVE this song!! i hope she has the "i have walked through scorn and ridicule" section in her album version that is on this but not on the piano version... :O
i completely agree! You can hear Courtney's authentic voice in her lyrics... I mean, she kinda writes the way she talks, there's no faking that. The high quality of her lyrics have remained consistent even after Kurt's death. There's no denying that he was her muse (and vice versa), and she did use lines, chords, melodies from Kurt, but she always managed to make it her own, which is what really counts. All art is imitation.
You put this brilliantly I can't agree with what you said about Courtney writing the way she talks. Plus anyone who is a true Nirvana fan knows that Kurt and Courtney during the In Utero-Live Through This era shared a journal where there wrote lyrics and poems together. Courtney helped penn "pennyroyal tea" and "heart-shaped box" and In Utero was something Kurt stole from Courtney..."In Utero" was the title of a poem Courtney wrote
I like this alot better than the other version i think the lyrics r better and i didnt like that the other version had no guitars & was completely piano driven (i dont think CLove has a piano voice)
She is so suited for raw guitar performances, she has so much heart and fire...especially in songs like northern star and dirty girls---piano mellowed out this song too much
If anyone has the TABS please please PLEASE e-mail me, i yearn sing this with musical acompanyment... And i'm not at the point where i can pick tabs up by ear - so if you can help, msg and i'll give you my e-mail. You will be recompensed by my enthusiasm AND you'll be granted asylum in the afterlife.

I was heartbroken than this demo didn't leak - The piano version is just an alternate.
And people say Kurt wrote all of Hole's music - Right. With a combo of THIS talent and Eric's, people can't seriously believe that shit, do they?

Wow - this is great - i like her new direction: intimate, minimal, and, as always - raw.
I want some more steel pedal guitar, like in Pacific Coast Highway, that song melts me down.

I like this, but it isn't as good as the guitar version, the live version with Linda Perry and Billy Corgan...the guitar in that clip is so haunting.
