You know to this day I remember the intro tune and the fact that the building shown is silver and has 444 on top, yet I don't remember most of the show. Weird.
This Song For Some Reason Still Plays In My Head. Back In The Days I Used To Watch This Show On And Off. I Was Not Really Big In To The Series But I Liked Watching Watching It From Time To Time. I Will Tell You One Thing They Don't Make Shows Like This Anymore. Today It Is All Crap And Waaaaay Too Much Crime Cop Shows And I'm Sick Of It. Can't Find One Good Decent Show To Watch These Days.
This was one of those shows that was so good it made you want to be a lawyer, just in the hopes that things turned out the way they did in the series law firm.
From the days when the theme song for the show was just as memorable as the show itself. I have cant recall remembering any theme songs for the shows of today.
I remember my girlfriend telling me she was going to leave me if I didn't stop watching "that stupid show," L.A. Law. I sure missed her.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go dig out my VHS tapes of L.A. Law episodes and watch Victor win Michael's chair, Jonathan cross-examine a guy to death, and Arnie put the make on one of his clients. It's going to take a loooooong time.
I loved this theme- and especially liked the trunk-closing scene. I remember the "IN STEREO" era. The FOX shows (like Married with Children and In Living Color) prominently displayed the "In Stereo Where Avaliable" logo on their shows. Then we went to the "Surround Sound" era. Now, you see the logos for "In High Definition" on certain shows today. Its the evolution of television.
@tvlandman2 I loved this theme too, but unfortunately TV shows now doesn't match up with presentation quality. All the older shows were in mono and standard def but had better casts, writing, and storylines.
I remember this so well. I didn't know what NICAM was until just before we bought our first VCR (a Panasonic). Because we hooked it up to our stereo, I used to tape all the decent TV themes, and of course, watch LA LAW just for the theme tune.
@djchronica185 The stereo soundstage was quite engaging on LA LAW in NICAM;phones were ringing all over the place, typewriters were tapping from all directions, cars drove from left to right and right to left across the screen. and extraneous sounds on outdoor scenes opened out.
My parents had a 33in Philips NICAM Stereo TV with swingout detachable speakers;I put it in spatial stereo mode in NICAM mode and it sounds more like it is in stereo with a wider field almost jumping out at you while speech remains centrestage or panned stereo left and stereo right on programmes like ITN News At Ten when voices came at you left and right on live and recorded studio interviews.
You know to this day I remember the intro tune and the fact that the building shown is silver and has 444 on top, yet I don't remember most of the show. Weird.

Jimmy Smits and Blair Underwood both went on to play fictional Presidents, and Richard Dysart had already played both Truman and Eisenhower.
Corbin Bernsen could now play Eisenhower: He now has less hair than Alan Rachins!

the only differences between this and REAL law practice were cases move much faster on tv, and not NEARLY as much sex!

That man that you see before the theme song plays reminds me of a guy I saw in Home Alone 4.

Who's looking forward to LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES?
It might be the closest thing to L.A. LAW that we'll get

I used to watch L.A. LAW back in the day, and it was one of the best shows from the 80's---and it introduced Blair Underwood to the world.
Nowadays, the closest thing to "L.A. Law" that I watch is LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT.
theBELLringer00 2 years ago
I agree with you about LA Law. However, I never paid too much attention to Law and Order.
