  • Another method is often possible wherein an intention remains unaltered, but the sentence or thought is uplifted.

For example, "I wish there weren't so many greedy people" can be said as "I wish more people were generous" or "I'd like to see more communal behavior". Replacing negative words ('greedy' in this case), as well as the negative logic (the 'not' function in weren't) while conveying the same thing causes a very different psychological impact on oneself and others.

  • What happened to the sound?

  • This technique would probably assist those is search of success in a business endeavor as well. I like it!

  • Maybe the word "argument" is poorly chosen. I meant more the "case" or the "view."

  • Interesting. Can the urge for arguments be a shortcoming in our inner selves? I often wonder if it's insecurity that drives people to do this and mostly in a negative way. I can't imagine Dali Lama would argue unless it's on occasion of an opportunity to teach for our own enlightenment.

  • Different, clever and sound psychologically! Well done Gretchen! TC

  • Gretchen, the sounds doesn't seem to be working. Or is it just my computer?

  • Thanks! and happy to hear from a fellow fan of Benjamin Franklin.

  • Great Advice - Thanks Gretchen - Big Love for Benjamin Franklin too!
