ive been in the cab of 90024 at doncaster whilst it was on the sleeper and they are totaly awesome the driving drove a deltic a few days before aswell, this was whilst i was waiting for 47851 and 47854 to come in to doncaster on the charter to bognor regis :P
Thanks for sending the video mate! I am not very clued up on all this friend stuff I just come on YouTube to post videos and watch others, I may join in in time though when I get chance! I am not a big fan of 57s though they do scream a bit under power, but top marks for putting that video together like that, it was most interesting!
Not all, Stefan. Many are named for corporate reasons, others named after railwaymen, and some hark back to the days when a name meant something (Geographical names, Regimental names, Racehorses etc..)
As the Class 57/3's are used as rescue locomotives, it was decided to name them after characters from the Thunderbirds show (International Rescue!)
Great video, PrentonPimp. If you're interested I can do you a cracking deal on folding palm trees. :)

awsome film+ 5*s there
jules46443 3 years ago 2
Thanks! Virgin's 57/3's operate a M-F Chirk-Carlisle-Chirk log train. I don't know how long the contract has left though.
At least the 57/3's are reliable, and generally free during the week!
PrentonPimp 3 years ago
6 years left!

Cheers abbymick! That's a good long contract. Still, when the Holyheads go over to Voyagers, there's gonna be ANOTHER spare 57/3 isn't there?

You are giving Steven Spielberg a run for his money here. Raining again I see. Do all Loco's in the UK have a name?
