The USA spends the highest percentage of its GDP on healthcare. Will taxes go up? Possibly but speaking from the POV of a person who was billed $2,336 for a single ambulance ride and over $28,000 for a 3 week stay in hospital I think paying an extra $75 per month in taxes would be worth it. Let's get rid of the hinderances to our future e.g. Republicans such as George W. Bush. They had 6 years of majority control of the federal gov't & didn't do anything. Let's send them a message in November.

Would it decrease wages of those working in the health care field? Wages that are already to low as it is (excluding physicians of course).

What about the amount the businesses hold; when they no longer exist everything comes from the nation so more taxes but how much more since by then there hopefully won't be funding for a war; the money that used to go into health care plans and related things are now collected as tax but how much money in this new addition to our taxes- why don't you look some of these things up. Wages will not increase, if anything, employers will decrease wages in protest to the bill.

I've never seen a employees get a raises because of a company being successful, I've just seen my boss buy corvettes and 2 cars for his 16 yr old daughter.

To the person down there talkin bout there was a time when physician's cared about their patients---she is not speaking about doctors! She is speaking about insurance companies. An HMO is where the DR gets the same payment from insurance company no matter the patients problem therefore the pt's with serious illness and problems get short changed becaue the HMO doesn't want to spend the money.

She quit because after she did not allow the man his heart transplant she went in to the lobby and saw they were installing a sculpture there that cost to install the same as the operation.

The sculpture itself cost 3.8 million, enough for 8 heart transplants.

Its utterly heartbreaking.
