  • Ok thnx because I couldn't find any info on that

  • If I'm on a jump program, will my vertical decrease when the program is over?

  • @n8thegr82011 eventually if you don't maintain your strength or if you wear yourself out with a sports season or something like that. But actually a lot of times people gain inches when they stop training and let their body adapt fully

  • anybody else want to know why this particular song has been used in 9 million different videos ?

  • @FieldBoy111 I have your answer. copyright laws result in the soundtrack being removed from a lot of videos. youtubers can replace it with one of the songs that is licensed by youtube, but all those songs are just awful. this is pretty much the best option, and in my case I was actually paid by the record label to use it

  • 5'10, standing reach 7'5 and touched 10'6 yeeeeeeeee

  • I'm 4'6'' 98lbs and can 360 dunk a basketball between my legs Vince Carter style. Is that good?

  • @Lights0ut1109 no STFU

  • do these drills make you faster as well? awesome vid dude, will definately put these in my workout

  • that is the worst deadlift i have ever seen

  • great job

  • omg is that uw lacrosse? im from wisconsin lol

  • HI I am in training, and I have started working nightshifts, my energy levels and performance have dropped. I know you have experience with this. Any advice?

  • @clarkdef wish I did, but I had no success when I worked nights, so I don't know what I would advise. One idea would be doing 6 weeks of mostly explosive training and then taking 3 weeks off. Hopefully you could still improve your rate of force development with that approach. But I just don't know know if gaining strength is likely at all

  • this is the only video that goes well with this song, nice hard work man keep it up :)

  • would you say cardio, along with jump training, would be detrimental towards my results? I'm planning on doing all my strength/plyos in the morning with regular cardio at night and either regular cardio or HIIT on the off days. thoughts?

  • @thebigtortuga check my site for an article on cardio

  • god damn @1:38 is impressive

  • How old are you?

  • I am 5'4" and my standing reach is 6'6". How short are my arms?

  • @ltlwatcher quite short

  • sir did chris gained more than what he has before?

  • @EckoisZero no he's still 135 lbs

  • @jumptrainee1 sorry i somehow thought you were asking about his weight. yeah his vertical has reached 40. Hoping for a couple more inches soon

  • Great stuff, you're doing the right things to improve. How old are you?

  • Those are some beneficial exercises when it come to increasing your vertical jump. Especially the weight lifting. Take a look at my channel to see more weight lifting exercises that will increase your vertical jump.

  • I'm training too atm. Got 25" vertical. Need to go 35"

  • is it alright that i'm starting at 100lbs on the deadlift?

  • @EckoisZero yeah start working on it and it'll go up quickly. it's not where you're at. it's where you're headed

  • uw lacrosse whats up dude!!!

  • @baller4621 whats up. who's this?

  • EARTH to mute button!!! time for use!!!

  • HEy I'm about the same metrics as you except my reach is 5 inches shorter, what exercises do you do?

  • @EXRobo did you watch the video?

  • thumbs up if u mute the music

  • must be easy training for a sport like basketball..

  • @1080famous must be easy competing less than once a month.

Also there's no basketball in this video. Jump training is useful for a lot of different sports, including MMA.

  • @1080famous You try it then...Those who train the correct way not only are in shape for basketball, but football, track and field as well!

  • @1080famous This makes aboslutely no sense. Video is about jumping. Oh and what is so easy with basketball?

  • im 5"7 and i can dunk, i dont play basketball but i do track i think psrinting helps jumping

  • Can he hoop?

  • @emef44 nope

  • it took him 8 years to gain 6 inches?

  • @jamasterj25786 8 weeks

  • @jumptrainee1 Oh nice!

  • Thumbs up if you press mute button

  • lol i have does exact shorts on rite now wow

  • no offense but... i was expecting the guy to dunk. when i was third year high school '92 i could touch the rim i was a member of our soccer varsity from 1st to 3rd year high school but I played basketball most of the time and was hit by the 'jordan' fever-- i wanted to dunk. I was 5-5 when I could hang on the rim but not dunk. i didn't have all the trainings of the guy in the video. all i did was jog 10 rounds in the track and field oval every saturday .. do stretching exercises. jump rope.

  • Hi there, i was just curious how old the guy is in this video. I am 27 now. Is there any chance that i can still increase my vertical jump?

  • @Specialist1219 he was 19 when he started. 27 is not too old tho

  • @jumptrainee1 wow im pretty behind. I never really worked on increasing my vertical before. Do you have any suggestions at to where i should start? I'm about 5'7. Although I'm short, i enjoy fighting for rebounds so i am looking to jump higher. Part of the reason i enjoy fighting for rebounds is because i have a wide body. Currently 200lbs. I see the guy on this vid is 130 WOW. Super light. Looking to be more explosive. Any advice would help. Thanks again!

  • if i cant access a gym and I want to do this what are some ways I can increase my veritical jump?

  • @mikesports256 1-leg squats 1-leg stiff-leg deadlift are strength exercises that can be done with no equipment. also a lot of plyos require nothing. check my videos

  • he did all those things but he cant still touch the rim lol..im 5'5 6'11 standing reach and i can grab the rim and almost dunking without doing those things

  • @hulb0tb1ra that means you have at least a 40 inch vertical...doubt it

  • @ctank08 yes i do :)...i have an old vid it was taken like a year ago and the quality sucks but still u can watch it on my channel..

  • @hulb0tb1ra post a real video

  • @ctank08i it is a real vid but its old tho but dont worry il take a new vid

  • @hulb0tb1ra yeah, I don't get it either.

  • @Clifton100 they cant accept the reality that white man cant jump haha..ONLY SOME OF THEM lol....well my point is u dont have to do all those things to jump higher

  • What a tool hahaha

  • use jumpsole.........

  • im pretty sure 285 pounds for a 14 year old kid is overweight.

  • im 6'0 and i can dunk it with two handed , squat only

  • I wanna see Chris dunk!

  • lifting weights too early stunts your growth so you might want to consider that

  • @lilromayne no it doesn't. and he's full grown anyway

  • @jumptrainee1 ooh. well thats just watch my coach told me.

  • @lilromayne Only if you overtrain, and that goes for every tough sport.. I'll bet these guys do it correctly anyways.

  • pretty good. But I am 5 foot 5 and can touch rim. Also white, my max squat is 235 and I weigh 134.6.

  • that's a shit clean technique

  • i wanna ask you something...im doing squats with 50 pound on my shoulder...i do atleast 300...100 each 3 repeatition...ive been doing this for two days now...how long can i see results?

  • Dang bro, I'm 5'10.5" and can dunk with 2 hands no problem and yea I weight 201lbs...My vertical is 40-41inches right now !!!

  • I'm 6'2 and i weigh 170 and i can hang on the rim with two hands. I have dunked it. I just can't do it consistenly. I can only do it i guess when i get an adrenaline rush.

  • I like what I see. Nice training. :-)

  • Hi i´m 5,9 and have a question. Can i dunk if i do this workouts? sorry formy bad english, i´m german.. pls answer

  • @basketball4nation

do jump squats, calf raises, depth jumps, box jumps, and split squats. also do sprints.

  • @Ivan1781 thx man..:D you really helped me:D

  • Wow this was made at uwl lmfao im an hour away in iowa! Ive played in that gym...made me laugh to c it

  • I'm 5'11" 175... and I have no trouble grabbing rim with two hands but for some reason with a ball I can dunk 2 handed

  • im 5''7 and i can get about half way between the rim and the net. what are some hard core verticle exircises?

  • at 1:47 what's that workout for? why do you need muscles in that area?

  • hey im 14 years old ..6"1 and bout 285 pounds....i cab almost touch a 10 foot basket...im like 4 inches away....what should i do to jump higher

  • @MultiGrateful go to my site and start reading

  • @jumptrainee1 i love bothering you. another question. i dont think ur site said. when lifting deadlift or squat... do u do 5 sets of 5? and no more? for the fact of fast twitch muscle fibers... ? so like doing squats like crazy to failure wont help with my vertical at all? : )

  • @dgarver1992 there's a thousand different strength training strategies. 4x10, 5x5, 10x3, pyramid, max effort, dynamic effort, grease the groove, the list goes on and on. Bottom line, if something makes you stronger it will help your vertical in the long run.

  • @jumptrainee1 alright thanks! better to hear it from you then trust internet sites. so 2 more questions... does running a mile or 2 for cardio every week hurt ur vertical? and whens the best time to static stretch after a workout when ur sore from DOMS? ill keep u updated with my gains in like a month! see how good i am at training myself.

  • @jumptrainee1 well put brotha...bottom line is drive those lower body core lift numbers(eg squat), throw in plyos, strengthen the core glutes and hamstrings just for stability

  • @jumptrainee1 hey man wots ur site called

  • @gamezgamezgamez360 check the video description

  • @MultiGrateful Im 6'0 and i weigh 180 at 12% bf cut down to my weight and ull gain 8 inches on ur vert

  • @MultiGrateful 285 pounds im 13 and 6"2 and im only 167 and i can almost touch it too im like 7 inches away

  • @MultiGrateful lose weight dude

  • @MultiGrateful you need to lose some damn weight is what you need to do

  • @MultiGrateful do you mean 185? coz 285 is like more than dwight......

  • @MultiGrateful your kidding me right?im like 58 or 9 and im like 1 inch away from touching the basket....the problem is that any execise is not working to improve my vertical lip i just hope this one works

  • @MultiGrateful you should invest your time in the gym (if u do lift that is) on three major forms of lifting, 1) squats: this is known as the king of lifting because it will seriously work out a lot of major muscle groups, also it's really good for vertical jumps. 2)deadlifts: this will strengthen your thigh muscles give you that good support when you do squats. 3) cleans: these will work out your arms and legs, your arms are also used for vertical jumps so you would need that kind of strength

  • @MultiGrateful lose weight

  • @MultiGrateful thats kinda sad cuz i just turned 14 and im 5,3 and 4 or 5 inches away from touching rim

  • @MultiGrateful ur fat as fuck stop lying

  • Thumb's up if you muted straight away, fucking hate this shit piece of song.... ^.^

  • LMAO u work out so hard but cant get up, i did barley anything and i have a 40 inch vert loool i feel bad for my fellow white people

  • nice, but don't take your lower back for granted and wear a belt when lifting

  • great work kid

  • Good job, keep up the good work.

  • if you look closely, lebron traveled

  • @Iplayball12 if u look closely u are retarded

  • The music sucks.

  • at 1:47...what is it and where can you buy one??

  • @frazierbeyb you can do it with free weights, just put a weight in between your feet and do the same motion

  • how much you bet that is helium

  • hey im 13 and 5'6 about 135 lbs and i cn dunk on 9ft but i get rim stuffed on 9 and a hlf..i can also get my whole palm on the backboard on a 10 ft hoop..wht should i do to increase my vertical ??

  • @ka100ak Go to my site there's a whole bunch of info

  • @ka100ak you can increase your vertical instantly like 3-6 inches. Check out adam linkenauger's jump technique tips, they really help. And long term doing a lot of what this kid is doing works great i.e. improving your squat, deadlift, clean and snatch. Combining weight training with plyometrics properly will help you increase your vertical dramatically. Focus on strength, movement efficiency, flexibility and technique

  • where you get the pimp jams?

  • @dkblade27 false

  • heavy squat baby!!!!

  • how many times did chris practice in one week?

  • This kid should Parkour.

  • thankz itz cuz i wanna grow as tall as possible to make it to the NBA

  • Yo what is your program like? How many times a week do you lift? How many times a week do you do plyos? what reps, sets, rest?

  • @victorNBA36 If you are young it will probably stunt your growth. Meaning you will not grow as much. If you are older it will not make you short and will probably have no effect.

  • holly crap! that amazing, this kid is beast

  • his vertical is 6 now

  • do u recommend getting weighted vests? my cousin goes to the gym and plays Bball with his on sometimes

  • how heavy should you squat and leg press? would it be good to max out like every other week? this is for vertical jumping too.

  • @aznman240 idk but in my powerlifting class we did the BFS program and we remaxed every 4th week...we would do 3x10 the first week 3x5 the second and 3x3 the third and just repeated that....in the first semester i went from a 185 max to a 235 max

  • hey if you work out hard does it make you short?

  • @victorNBA36 no lifting weights does not stunt growth. there's an article on my site about it

  • @jumptrainee1 you have to stretch alot if u work out though...

  • @victorNBA36 it really depends on your age.

if you are still growing and your bones are still stretching it can because your body begins to focus on rebuilding those muscles you work out more than building your bone structure.

i waited till i was pretty much done growing to really start hitting the weights

  • @victorNBA36

I didn't start adding weights until I was 18. I didn't squat more than 8x120 lbs at that time, even if I was capable of way more than that.

I added 80 lbs in the first year and 80 more in the next 2 years.

I then had some lower back problems (not training related) and now (22 yo) I only do single leg squats with 130 lbs.

  • i can touch the rim after one day

  • man i wish i had that kind of equipment lol i dont even have the jump manual i just put a back pack with books in it and to heel lifts on the back poarch lol how ghetto is that but great job man

  • I don't believe that's Nelly..

  • it works.

  • all leg presses do is strengthen your quads. It's important to have balanced legs (ham & quad), but you won't improve your vertical leap what so ever doing heavy weight. Do behind that back squats and make sure ur legs are at least parallel to the ground. Really emphasize exploding up in all drills/exercises, push your self harder everyday, and you'll most certainly see results.

  • leg press is good for your hops, so are squats, but mostly calf raises

most importantly if you wanna dunk, work your fucking ass off, even jordan worked on his hops

  • how much is he deadlifting there?

  • sux that ur 5 5

  • jumptrainee1 ! are you gonna get a vid up of chris dunking? and why does doing leg press with heavy weights not make you stronger ?

  • @dgarver1992 chris got a 40-inch vert but he never dunked. still hoping it happens eventually. leg press is really just a quad exercise. It will make your quads stronger, but as far as all around strengthening it's pretty worthless

  • @jumptrainee1 how tall is he? and so for improving vertical and strength ur just all about compound lifts and olympic style lifts and plyometrics?

  • @dgarver1992 JUST all about? that's a lot of stuff to be JUST all about. Stretching is another key component, and I like strength/flexibility hybrid exercises like overhead squats. then there's minor stuff like abdominal work, lower leg training, proper warmup, etc...

  • @jumptrainee1 : )

  • great training video bro. now hows of rest many days do you take AFTER a heavy training...

  • @mrlakayna thanks for all the encouraging comments. 2 or 3 workouts a week is what I use and recommend. If it's 3 per week, one of the workouts will be a little easier

  • 6 inches and still barely on rim lolll

  • Jump Manual would do wonders for this guy if he is really dedicated to gaining inches on his vert.

  • @Chuppaminargas the jump manual isn't that good. Leg press for strength? gimme a break

  • So like, is he going to stay this short because of all this training?

  • @mapleasura he was 19 and full grown before starting, but weight training doesn't stunt growth anyway. I have a page on my site about that

  • has anyone heard fo teh BOINGVERT program??? it's suppose to be nasty!!!

  • This is called Plyometrics.

It's smart, it's very effective. It will allow you to run faster, jump higher and kick farther.

But be very careful with this, for it is a dangerous type of exercise for your joints. Especially your knees. Make sure to follow a specific training program authorized by a professional heath specialist.

I'm a Punter so I know what I'm talking about. I tried doing plyometrics by my own without any guidance and I almost busted my knee. Fortunatly all is well now :)

  • @mtavares92 What type of Plyometrics help with punting?

  • @Justinle97 try doing basic, elementary explosive movements involving your thighs and legs.

For example, from a standing position, try to do fast-paced, knee movements. As if you were giving someone the concussion of their life.

That is a pretty harmless plyometric exercise. But make sure that you don't overdo it and don't do plyometrics more than 2 times a week. Also, do seperate workouts.

Eventually you will feel your legs lighter, like they have wings and that will greatly affect punting

  • let me think what is a good way to jump higher..... o yeah just jump lol.... you want a higher bench then bench you want more money work more lol.... you want to dunk keep trying to dunk bam i did all that for free =]

  • @startingover101 hahahaha

  • He does that every day??

  • im 14 with 30 inch vert (im white :D) is that good for my age?

  • i forgot to mention that im only 5"9.

  • dude are yu serious only 28 inches with no training???? that sucks, i have a vertical of 32 inches with no training all god given and thats when i was last year. im 17 years old, hispanic, weight is 134 pounds, and lately ive been doing squat jumps with a squat bar with 45 pounds on each side, and im doing 3 sets 20. with 100 crunches. my vertical is now 38 to 39 inches depending on the streching. and ive only been doing this for 3 weeks (weekends off). all that training isnt needed seriously.

  • Comment removed

  • If this is true , this is awsome because if i increase my vertical 5 inches i will be able to dunk :P

  • i can not good english. how big is he?

  • is that really true?

  • thx bro in two mouth i increase my vertical jump by 4 inches and now i could hold on rim.( im 5 10)
