  • UnThreat Antivirus is heavy on CPU but it has excellent virus database. I will wait for further versions to try again.

  • @ilkerol1986

Its not heavy. Here on XP SP3 it uses app. 5-10 MB both the processes combined. After system boot it takes little more coz it connects to the server for updates then it settles down.

  • @narenbisht Yes but 5-10 MB is ram, not CPU

  • @ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed

CPU is also mostly under 0-10.

  • Nice test. Thanxx for the test.

  • I think they have zero day protection, but in their paid version so I think there is not so likely they will add it to their free version in the future, Nice video

  • @ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed

I am running UnThreat Free & a member in their forum. The free/paid are the same, including behaviour protection which is under active protection - advanced. Heuristics is into active protection itself. Seperate setting for Heur will be provided with next engine upgrade. UnThreat uses Vipre Engine 4. They are waiting for Vipre to distribute the latest engine 5 to the OEMs so they upgrade to the latest which is due soon.

  • @narenbisht correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the paid one have a firewall?

  • @ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed

Yes the paid one comes with FW. In my previous post what I meant was the AV in free/paid is the same & thats why I mentioned AV features only. Guess I was not clear enough.

  • @narenbisht And firewalls are count as zero day protection right?

  • @ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed

But not all free AV's has FW, right? And its UnThreats Free AV.

  • @narenbisht Yes that is my point, friend the firewall is only in the paid version which means it has zero day protection on it's paid version

  • @ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed

First of all its a free AV & FW is not the only Zero-Day protection. How many free AV's has some sort of Zero-Day protection? Very few to none. Atleast UnThreat Free AV has some sort of Zero-Day Protection & that is Behaviour Blocker. It can be found under UnThreat Free AV's settings - Active Protection - Advanced - Suspicious Behaviour Protection.

  • @narenbisht there is no need to get angry I was just making a statement on the video -_- and there is alot of free avs that have zero day: COMODO: 1-Defence + 2- Firewall 3-Heuristics 4-Behavior blocker 5-cloud antivirus 6-Sandbox Avast: 1-Behavior blocker 2-Sensitivity (Heuristics) 3-Sandbox Avira: Heuristics Avg:Heuristics those were just some popular free avs not all of them
