it is possible to win. if the US wanted to win we could launch Trident II missiles from Ohio class SSBNs from right next to their coast giving them only 2 minutes warning before impact. that would destroy all of their icbms and bombers. There are also Seawolf and Los Angeles class SSNs trailing all of their SSBNs which could destroy their SSBNs long before they could launch. previously, when each side had more than 1000 icbms, it was impossible to win, but now it can be done.

Idiotic, to say the least. Russia has over 3800 nuclear missiles which they are decreasing to the amount of 1500 along with the US. The Russians have the practically the same missile defense capabilities as we do, meaning the winner would be hard to pick. US missile defense systems would give America an edge, as well as the fact that most of Russia's population is concentrated in one area. You are not a general, please do not act like one online, war is not a computer game.

we both have roughly the same number of nukes, but our technology is better. the russians don't have any SLBM that be used as a first strike or counter force weapon. all their ICBMs can easily be destroyed before they launch, because our Ohio class subs can come right next to the coast and launch Trident II missiles which will hit their targets in less than 3 minutes, not enough time for you to launch. B-2 stealth bombers and AGM-192 stealth missiles can destroy their targets undetected.

Who said is is not winnable? The only person who said something is impossible is an idiot. If there is a Nuclear War, sides can easily win by completely crushing the way of life of the other side, not by merely changing it. All wars can be won, it is a matter of who is smarter and more strategic with his weaponry that will win. US ballistic missile defense are also going online making the United States continental 48 practically un-strikable. Hopefully there is no war, but if there is, well win.

MAD only stops war if one side can't destroy the other sides nukes before they are launched. it doesn't mean it's impossible to destroy the enemies nukes like many people think. all it means is that if you attack but don't destroy the enemy completely, you will also get nuked to hell. there will be little fallout if it is done correctly. fallout occurs the most with ground-bursts, but air-bursts have little fallout. the USA can do that, therefore the USA can win global thermonuclear war.

our technology is all much better. The M16 is better than the ak-47. the UGM-133 Trident II SLBM is better than the SS-18. the Patriot missile shoots down the scud. The F-22 and B-2 beat the shit out of the S-300.

in Vietnam the ak47 proved to be much more reliable

the B-2 came in 1989 dumbass. we already had the F-117 Nighthawk. the AGM-129 stealth cruise missile came in 1985. m16 only jammed when it wasn't cleaned for very long periods of time. few parts are made of plastic, and the plastic is strong, which makes the M16 lighter than the ak-47, so soldiers using the M16 can carry more ammo. the Trident II SLBM can destroy the SS-18 long before it can launch.

Well think about i for a second. If an EMP went off it would mean that all electromagnetic devices shut down. So how could somebody film what was going on?
In other words it's CGI. If you were caught within close range of a nuclear bomb you would be instantly vaporized (burned in an instant) leaving nothing but your shadow burned into to the ground.

I recognize some of the footage from "The Day After" a made for TV movie from the late 80s. It was so frighteningly real for TV at the time the network (ABC? NBC? I forget one of the big American networks) had to open a hot line to calm viewers down. People thought it was REAL!

Russia has more nukes and more accurate nukes with larger yeilds but only slightly larger yeilds... even so... the US has about 5,600 active warheads Russia has 6,300 active warheads... with a combined stock amount of about 25,000... if we ever do go into nuclear exchange it will be the end of us both...

I was wrong to call Russia "Ghetto" but they don't have a portion of the capital of the USA. They spend a big chunk on Military but its not even half of what the US spends on Military in one year.
