As much as I respect Russell Peters and love his jokes. He clearly doesn't know the meaning of the word Pakistan. You ask any Paki guy what Pakistan means and they'll tell you it means "Land of Pakis" (basically). The only problem is that it has been used with a negative connotation for years and it sounds bad. If it weren't for those douchebags, no one would take offense to the word. It's just a shame Russell Peters hasn't caught on.

In Urdu, the major or more appropriately the OFFICIAL language, the meaning of PAK is "PIOUS"...

For example, my family moved from Scotland to Montreal in 1965 as part of what they called the 'brain drain' - when European university graduates could expect higher status jobs and/or better incomes here.
