To those of you saying poor Kate...8 kids ect. She had help, Jon was very helpful and she had help from her brother Kevin and his wife Jodi that were very close to the kids but because they also had camera in thier house while they were caring for the kids they asked to be paid and Kate said No, only her and Jon would be paid and totally threw them to the curb so I don't feel sorry for her one bit, she made her bed now she's going to have to lay in it.

There are laws in place to protect child actors like the Olson twins and cameras were not in thier house there is a huge difference. There are no laws to protect kids of reality shows and there should be.

Actually they don't apply, there have been a lot of news stories lately about this. Technically the children are not working but there needs to be some protection for children whose life is being televised for profit. There are no laws in place to make sure these children have some say over this and to be compensated.
