damn, if you guys can walk the marathon in 2 mins 53 seconds, how fast are you at running it. thats fast. has someone called guiness?
ps, guys, women like sexy legs and those tarahumara guys have very sexy legs lol.
stunning scenery. thanks for sharing. i will never be able to visit anywhere as rural and beautiful so seeing it on here makes me feel like i have. used to love to run too, but no-one to run with, too many who want to run against!

It's amazing to watch these videos and see McDougall's people and places come to life. As I attempt to start running with Vibrams, I'm looking for vids that show the Tarahumara running technique, but haven't found any. Ted, any suggestions?
@magulica You are right. What they do NOT have is cushioning or lift. The FEELING of impact is not reduced it you land hard. However, you are spared having to feel every rock and bramble...totally unnecessary to run well.
From Born to Run I got the impression that most Raramuri people don't want to interact with the outside world. Are the runners in this race specially social by their people's standards? Also what does it take to be invited to participate in what looks to be the single most epic 60 mile race on this planet.
@stingray7306 Actually, there are different outfits depending on where they live. Lower canyon dwellers wear this outfit. Apparently, those that live more in the alpine regions where a different outfit.
That's Jenn Shelton. I used to work for VBLS where they were lifeguards during this time period, and I had no idea that they were doing this stuff until I read Born to Run. Pretty crazy.
Did Christopher McDougall run leadville 100?

Does the guy with the dark green top at @1:55 have six toes on his left foot or am I imagining it?

those sandals wearing by indians seems to me NOT so thin and flexible at all, specially those walking over breage.
Are tires as thick as 4mm or even 3mm Vibram or some of Terra Planta shoes?

Those outfits the Tarahumara are wearing are not at all what I was picturing from the description in the book.
