@CSXRockford Thanks a lot man. Didn't know who to ask and didn't want to call one of my mechanics to sound like a dumbass. Hope to see some more work on that car , good luck.
Hey man I have a question for you, Would 150psi be enough to take off the motor mount bolts off the LT1 ? I'm asking you because I know you know. Thanks .
150Lbs of what? torque, Air pressure ..Need more info are you talking about the bolts that hold the clam shell to the engine or the bolts that hold it to the mounts in the frame?
I have an 88 caprice ls and i was wondering what all modifications were done to make the plastic tank work far as wiring and more importantly getting it to fit. I want to switch mine over to a tbi 350 from a 95 silverado. My friends are gonna junk a 95 9c1 where my gas tank is gonna come from. The motor and tranny is already gone. Thanks and great work.
first, great job man .. and second i need your help .. i have a 1979 buick electra limited and i wanna tune it up i wanna ask you if the 350 intake manifold fits my 302 engine and what holly carburetor is suitable for sucha engine size .. i live in Jordan and i dont wanna order some wrong parts from the internet that wouldnt fit my car so ill be glad if u help me ... thanks
I have a 78 Impala Landau 2 door :) and want to swap the 305 with an LT1 engine out of a caprice 9c1 car. Will the motor mounts bolt right up or do I have to modify them to fit? I plan on converting it to fuel injection also. Any suguestions? Thanks.
@CSXRockford Have to agree with you. I'm biased, but what the hell. I have a '65 Impala 4 dr ht, orig. paint (black) & an '83 Impala (check out '83 on coldwarmotors.blogspot.com) Camaros are nice but you see muscle cars EVERYWHERE at shows. And there's something about a big sedan that always' get's my pulse up. I have a 1" rear sway bar (from cruiser) and installed Delco brand coil overs (front/back) in 2009 & she handles just fine.
@MIKEFROSTED 383 would be the best choice, Keeps the weight off the front end, You car would handle like a bag of ass with that big block in the front. Even a good hot 350 would give you more power. change the rear gears also.
Cause Camaros and firebirds are like asshole, everyone has one, And if you ever drove a 87-90 Caprice9C1 police car, You would see they are just as sporty and don't attract to fuzz as bad when you are speeding.
Very nice, and yeah, those gigantic rims people put on them look pretty stupid. I have two 15x7 front and 15X8 rear Chevy Rally Rims on my 1987 2-door. I can respect a man who understands that certain cars look bad with certain things. gimmie a shout if you ever wanna take a look at my coupe, i dont have any videos of it, but i got a page on cardomain with a lot of its history. very nice Chevy man, very nice.
because when the rust gets in the seams between the panels, Its just a matter of time, So I figured maybe later on I would find a nice rust free body to swap onto my frame.
Nice LT1 swap. I also have an 89 caprice with a 350. Undercover car with about 250k. The heater core just went, and I was wondering if you know how to get at it to change it. Thanks.
when you swapped them did you keep the fuel injection and all the wiring or did you switch out the intake manifold and put a carb on it? do u still use the optispark when thats all done or u need a distributer
i have a 9c1 also, the original 350 died and my dad put another one in there...the only thing is this new 350 is gutless. what do you think i can modify to get more power out of that v8?
why u didnt swap ls1

90 Psi for all air tools.
CSXRockford 1 year ago
@CSXRockford Oh okay but thats not what I was asking. I was asking would 150psi be enough air pressure to take off a motor mount bolt or a body bolt?

@CSXRockford The bolts that hold the k member on , the bolts that hold the motor mounts to the engine. I said psi which is air pressure.

@CSXRockford

Yea I would get a good quality rebuild . a stock 700r4 will not handle a 383 for very long.

Love the Caprice man! I have the exact same one. Where can I find those Center Caps that you have on the wheels?
Ducatti822 1 year ago
Wow, wicked car. Love seeing stuff like this. But mann, I wish I knew how to do something like that.
My 89 9C1 with 133k miles has a slight ticking noise (apparently needs new valve stems). Can't wait to see the vids of some tire burning.

Hey nice car, why didnt you spend an extra day or two fixing the rust areas, seeing as you had everything off the underneath?

because when the rust gets in the seams between the panels, Its just a matter of time, So I figured maybe later on I would find a nice rust free body to swap onto my frame.

very good idea on that project! LT1 makes it move pretty fast. And also the body of that chevy looks pretty good with nice white color. Nice job.
