I use to like this band, but now I think that Chad is always screaming, not singing. I do think he is a good songwriter and if NIckleback ever had a greastest hits I would buy it. But I do sometimes think they are a bar band that got lucky, There are alot of talented bands out there. I will say they are great in concert they blow up the whole stage.

Gone are the days of artists picking up an instrument writing songs and singing, in are the days of artists buying there hits from writers, choreographed dances, and lipsyncing. @fready2009 I hate nearly every single chart artist out there. They suck live and in the studio. but you do get the odd artists who perform live and write great songs. Nickelback are one of them. The only time they've received help in their career was for Dark Horse in which Mutt Langue co-wrote a couple of songs and produced the album.

@nash3timemvp As a bassist of 10 years I assure you that they can play their instruments better than many bands; I saw them live and they were tight. They've found a market and cater to it - with repetitive songs no doubt, but nobody shits on AC/DC or Slayer when all their stuff sounds the same too. I'm not saying they're the best, but its meat and potatoes rock n' roll done well - to use a metaphor, sometimes we want a lobster dinner, and other times your in the mood for a steak and beer haha
@parkercal1 Agreed. Nickelback are a simple solid Balls to the Wall Rock Band. Their Live Shows Kick Ass. I've seen them 3 times, including one supporting Bon Jovi where they didn't have fireworks, but it didn't matter as at the end of the Day the Music does the talking. You get exactly what you pay for with 'em, nothing less.

Personally, I'm not a fan, but I don't think they're hurting anyone by playing. If you don't like it, change the channel during halftime. And regardless, the more popular you are, the more haters there will be. A band with 50 fans might have 2 haters. But a band with 50 million fans will have 2 million haters. Simple math.
What about all the people at the stadium who paid good money to attend the game? The halftime show is a huge part of football and their money goes towards the entertainment. I'd be pretty pissed if I shelled out a bunch of cash for tickets and then this godawful band was playing.

If you read the lyrics you'll find out what a good 50% of their songs through their history are about. The United Way was in charge of the Halftime Show for fund raising and they asked Nickelback to represent them. They have a ton of humanitarian songs. They did the show without pay for the UN. They are involved in charity work all of the time and in many ways.

@nash3timemvp As a bassist of 10 years I assure you that they can play their instruments better than many bands; I saw them live and they were tight. They've found a market and cater to it - with repetitive songs no doubt, but nobody shits on AC/DC or Slayer when all their stuff sounds the same too. I'm not saying they're the best, but its meat and potatoes rock n' roll done well - to use a metaphor, sometimes we want a lobster dinner, and other times your in the mood for a steak and beer haha

I've seen them 3 times, including one supporting Bon Jovi where they didn't have fireworks, but it didn't matter as at the end of the Day the Music does the talking. A few reasons why people might like them? Songs about sex, driving fast, ballads that chicks dig. Reasons why people might dislike them? And regardless, the more popular you are, the more haters there will be. A band with 50 fans might have 2 haters. But a band with 50 million fans will have 2 million haters. Simple math.

If you read the lyrics you'll find out what a good 50% of their songs through their history are about. The United Way was in charge of the Halftime Show for fund raising and they asked Nickelback to represent them. They have a ton of humanitarian songs. They did the show without pay for the UN. They are involved in charity work all of the time and in many ways.
