Ignore these fucktards bro. They wouldn't know anything about REAL strength training if it bit them in the ass. You have to realize that these are probably the same people who "dress up" to go to the gym and never go any heavier than 12 reps on a set. lol. Nice lift.
Right? Interesting word. It actually makes the lift harder, and so becomes a good strength building technique. You might think, hey, he's resting at the bottom. But, on a 1RM, it means next to nothing. The fatigue is not muscular and so resting doesn't help much. A bench benefits from the stretch reflex at the bottom, pausing removes that benefit and so you must go from zero recruitment to full recruitment to overcome gravity.
i know the video is old but this is beastly. If my gym had good squat cages that i could floor press in i would give up benching.

Do you have to use a hard surface or can I use a soft stretching mat?

nice pressing. Just wondering why do you tilt your head up on the 315 set?
knjazvovk 3 years ago
excellent. and to answer the question, these are harder. no arch, no real leg drive can be used. they are even harder with straight legs.
tubeuser999 3 years ago
No stretch reflex either - you're lifting from a dead stop at the bottom (which is why they're paused)
yamanmustafa 3 years ago
yeah i do them with straight legs otherwise youre just feeding your egot.
