thanks ginger for that enlightening comment and yes the pope did support william in his fight against louis but what did william do after he had won he declared government as the ruling power in england and that the throne of england should always be protestant he did this because he knew the popes plan was to usurp the throne with a catholic monarch at the earliest oppurtunity so they were hardly pals and i will certainly not be switching sides i will use the holy scripture as my guide

i honestly do not know how people can claim this is bigoted because if you look at there lyrics there are no bigoted terms or slurs unlike obviously the billy boys which does this is just a simple folk ballad not unlike the fields of Athenry which many of these people who slam this is as bigoted and sectarian probably listen to themselves
