  • how different german and japan after world wars. german regret and paid back. but japan these disgusting species! the only country got 2 atomic bombs and cannot complain about it because they have no excuse. you guys deserve 10000 atomic bombs. there will be series of volcano, earthquake, radioactive casualty because there is god. that is the proof of 'god exist'.

  • @netsamsam What you write is not true on three accounts. #1. It was not the generation of Germans who committed the atrocities that apologised for them, but their children's generation. #2. Nearly every Japanese Prime Minister since 1991 has apologised for Japan's wartime atrocities. #3. Japan has committed no act of aggression in 67 years.

  • @CloeBuckingham the most stupid example of circumvention.

  • fuking japanese bitch

  • @ImDeathNote In what way?

  • this is completely disgusting to even watch. why are you twisting what japan has done to korea? more harm has done than aid. this makes it look like their freaking heros or something.for you to even have time to make this fake history is pathetic.

  • @prettypinkkiss25 You are right. Joseon was terrible for Korea. The country was poor, and 99% of the population were exploited by the yangban. It's great that Japan ended that slave system and modernised Korea. That's why life expectancy and literacy rose sharply during the unification period.

  • What is this vid made for? I don't think it is by japanese. In this music, some words sound like japanese but quite weired. Only retarded parsonal might make this kind of vid. however, such parson do not have ability to make and up to youtube.

  • @moontokyo Your questions have already been answered. Just read through all the comments.

  • @CloeBuckingham I've read all the comments. I noticed some Koreans are aware of their fake history, but just quibbling. Just like sulky children. I used to have Korean Japanese girl friend and a worker, both of them having Hwabyung. They never admitted their mistake when Hwabyung symptoms were apparent. Also, whenever their fantasy were denied, Hwabyung took their mind completely. Korean people should grow up.

  • @moontokyo Please search for this in YouTube: "Final Fantasy VII Sephiroth Theme Song"

Final Fantasy is a series of Japanese animated films. The music's composer is Nobuo Uematsu, who pays homage Igor Stravinsky and Jimi Hendrix.

The piece in question is One-Winged Angel (片翼の天使, Katayoku no Tenshi).

  • because obviously the japanese people wanted to insult our leaders.....and wtf does Unity 731 or Rape of nanjing has to do with KOREAN history?!?!?!

  • @nos0323 Korean leaders? You mean the Joseon Dynesty that was destroying the economy and allowing the people to starve to death? When the Japanese and Koreans unified, there were fewer than 100 schools in Korea. In 1945 there were 5,000.

  • this kinf of stupid video because first of all japan DID NOT try to even help us!!!

do you know one thing they did to Korea and the history of Korea??

They broke a huge sacred castle grounds were kings, queens, etc have lived and they built a goddamn zoo there!!

that would be the same as someone taking down your house and shitting on it because KINGS AND QUEENS lived there but they put animals were they used to live!!

and dont say anything stupid like "oh well the zoo was for the public"

  • @nos0323 Japan promoted the rapid industrialisation of Korea: hospitals, schools, power plants, ports, roads, bridges were built. During Joseon, Korea was incredibly backwards compared to Japan or even China. The population declined in the 1800s, but nearly doubled during the period of unification with Japan.

Korean Kings and Queens were nothing more than cruel exploiters. The yangban horded education. The examination system was a corrupt farcical copy of China's. Japan created opportunities.

  • what the hell is up with the retarded song and how could you even try to taint korean history like that?!?!?

i read all your comments so dont even try to explain yourself because my grandparents and great grandmother went through this personally and first hand so i will not stand and not see this video get taken down or fixed...

i understand that you are married to a SK but just because you know a few SK doesnt mean you are not racist to them because obviously you are a japanese for making

  • @nos0323 If I ever said anything you feel is factually incorrect, I am quite happy to discuss it.

  • How dare you put Sephiroth's theme right here .... you idiot .... !!!

  • @Kiseirusama I humbly apologise for causing any offense by using Final Fantasy music to illustrate Korean history.

  • @CloeBuckingham It's alright as long as you understand .... you should put some sad song instead of raging theme like One Winged Angel .... I would be inappropriate to describe the incident then .... I like the song but you place it wrong .... anyway, don't mind it too much.

  • @Kiseirusama I feel rage how the Joseon kings and yangban exploited the common people. They created so much unnecessary suffering and poverty in South Korea and paved the way for the merger with Japan, the Korean war, and so on. The population of Korea actually declined during the 1800s. Koreans were forbidden to write in hangul. Roads and bridges were in disrepair. The government was exploitative. Slavery was allowed to exist. The wife of a criminal could be sold in slavery by the court. Rage!

  • What is this Japanese bullsh*t this Lisahbebe girl is propogating. F*ck your tilted Nip distortion of history.

  • @angrykorean Could you be more specific about what you mean by "distortion of history"?

  • We Asked For Help.... Ok lets say thats true but is this what Japan calls help?...type this in you tube ."Rape of Nanking 2: Japanese Torture Beheading Rape Burning" ....AFTER YOU WATCH LETS ALL MAKE SURE WE THANK JAPAN FOR ALL THE HELP

  • @lisahbebe Unfortunately, every photo has been demonstrated to be fake, and the Chinese government has removed them from the museum. They are such a poor cut and paste job with shadows in the same photograph going in different directions.

  • @CloeBuckingham I know this was long ago but... EVERY PHOTO WAS DEMONSTRATED TO BE FAKE? =)) WOW YOU ARE DELUSIONAL. Wow just...wow. Keep denying what happened during WW2: no one believes that crap.

  • @sashahawkins I am not joking. And China was forced to remove them from museums. You can see they were poorly pasted together before Photoshop. For example, some photos were taking from US war films, others from Japanese newspaper articles predating the invasion, others have soldiers in Chinese, not Japanese uniforms, others have shadows going in different directions.

I do not deny that Japan committed many atrocities in China. There is no need to fake evidence.

  • hello japs! come here! I can make 5ft imbeciles lie dead in the gutter and have their shitty jap faces queefed by my japanese girlfriend. ROFL

  • how come i cant post

  • You make it like Japan was never poor nation??????? This cleary explains you have been " Abused" boy.

  • @KoreanHistory1 Why are you making false claims and personal attacks? I have never said that.

  • Koreans didn't ask Japanese to build infrastucture. Plus it was President Park Chung Hee under his leadership past 60 years Korean economy developed.

  • @KoreanHistory1 Park was educated during the Japanese unity period at Manchukuo Imperial Army Academy, selected for Japanese officer training, and was commissioned as a lieutenant, fighting with the Japanese against the Chinese at the end of WWII. Japan's massive payments to South Korea after the 1965 treaty were used by Park to build up Korea's infrastructure. Japan supported Korea both during the unity period and much later.

  • FAKE

  • FAKE

  • I'm not quite sure what your video proves except that Korea was a poor country. We already knew that. They may have improved literacy rates and built up the infrastructure, but they were still an oppressive presence in Korea. My grandparents were adults during the occupation and they expressed plenty of bitterness. Their viewpoints weren't an attempt to spread propaganda, but rather an expression of their personal experience.

  • @mollypennsylvania Perhaps your grandparents should have expressed appreciation that Japan helped to build up Korea.

  • @CloeBuckingham @CloeBuckingham pls dont take this as a threat its just a question. If I were to beat ,torture and rape your mother but i helped with the funeral costs and helped bury her.would that make us even, Would you appreciate my help?Im sorry but what happend in Korea was wrong.AND WRONG IS WRONG NO MATTER WHAT

  • @lisahbebe Anyone can focus on a few negative events. Rape exists in every country and at every time. However, the net effect of the period of Japanese-Korean friendship and unity was positive for the Korean peninsula.

During the 1800s, the population, literacy, and life expectancy were in decline. However, they sharply rose during the Japanese-Korean unity period.

Rather than focusing on a few special cases, let's look at the overall impact.

  • @CloeBuckingham that was nice.what about the koreans that were forced 2 speak japanese n beaten when caught speaking korean My Mom shes Fluent In Japanese which is good But she Has Deep wounds from watching Her friends Get Beat For Speaking Korean I don't understand that kind of Evil.Just bcuz they gave Us Some education doesn't erase the damage done.

  • @lisahbebe Koreans were never forced to speak Japanese. In fact, before Japan, Koreans were not allowed to write in Hangul. The Japanese published Hangul textbooks for Korea. Before Japan there were fewer than 100 schools. During the Japanese-Korean unity period, 5,000 schools were built. Many famous Koreans kept their Korean names. By the way, when I took French class, I was not permitted to speak other languages. That is normal.

  • @CloeBuckingham

Hmm...I don't understand where you learned such jaded and sheltered history. Koreans were widely persecuted for speaking Korean...the Japanese wanted to conquer by forced cultural assimilation.

  • @CloeBuckingham

    @CloeBuckingham

Hmm...I don't understand where you learned such jaded and sheltered history. Koreans were widely persecuted for speaking Korean...the Japanese wanted to conquer by forced cultural assimilation.

Conquering isn't all blood-spilling force...aid that has a different agenda is not true aid.

  • @CloeBuckingham my mother would not lie about that .she has nothing to gain from lying. They were not allowed speak Korean! There's a difference between ur french class n trying erase a culture. We r who we r because of everthing we've been through but Shirō Ishii was an Evil Soul..Like u said in a previous comment lets not focus on the rapes or few negative events. They brought us "education" & Built schools.Oh Wait.. they built UNIT 731 now how did those horrific medical experiments benefit us?

  • @lisahbebe What does Unit 731 have to do with Korea? Next you will say that the Nazi's built concentration camps in Korea.

Koreans were in the Japanese Diet during World War II, serving as generals in the Imperial Army and as admirals in the Imperial Navy. Koreans were fighting side-by-side with Japanese against China and committing atrocities against China side-by-side with Japanese. More than 21,181 Koreans are enshrined at Yasukuni Shrine for fighting for the Empire.

  • After 1945 Japan became a peace loving country. Every single Japanese person who is responsible for atrocities is now dead, many of them hanged by the US victors.

However, Korean atrocities have continued. During the Vietnam war, Koreans committed many atrocities against Vietnam civilians, but were never tried for their war crimes. The Seoul National Cemetery (국 립서울현충원) is full of war criminals. The difference is that they never had to face justice. The Korean government does nothing.

  • @CloeBuckingham An apology wouldnt fix everything but it would be nice.2 my knowlege there hasn't been an apology.just because they are a "peaceful country "now(with the help of 2 atomic bombs) doesn't give them a right to dismiss there wrongs.I am not holding a grudge but it would shown integrity if Japan owned and expressed some accountability

  • @CloeBuckingham !!Really think about it .if I did those things to your family in front of you do you really think you could "express" appreciation..?If YES Then my hat goes off to you . & I have alot to learn from you.

  • Comment removed

  • I really don't mind people giving me minus points, as long as they discuss with me with details. If you can't, you are someone who likes to believe something that benefits you, even when such facts happens to be false.

If you believe that I am wrong, just try to convince me, using fair and balanced arguments. I am more than willing to listen.

  • I think CloeBuckingham has a mental illness - All the comments I made that exposed her opinions have been marked down by exactly the same number.

Other users have nosticed this trend too.

If it continues we will definitely be reporting the video's she has posted that are definitely not her copyright.

  • If you feel that I have made a copyright violation, I strongly encourage you to complain to YouTube about the problem. I have no interest in being intimidated based on accusations made without evidence.

  • Comment removed

  • Stop being a TROLL using mutliple accounts to mark down comments you don't agree with and you won't have a problem. Till then posting content that you clearly have not produced will continue to leave you vulnerable.

Checkout Thunderf00t's video on how venomfangx was dealt with.

Stop it or you are next - it's not intimidation it's a promise.

  • On what evidence are you basing your accusations?

If you feel that I have done something wrong and that disturbs you, feel free to complain to YouTube or anyone you like.

The thrust of your argument is that I'm doing something wrong and you'll report me unless I please you. But wouldn't scruples dictate that you report alleged wrongdoers whether they please you or not?

What make you think I care whether this account is shut down anyway? LOL!

  • No - the 'thrust' of my argument is that using mutliple accounts to mark down comments just enough times to be invisible by default is cynical.

Doubtless you will LOL when your account is shut down -

    I will.

  • I am confused. What does the Japanese inflicted Nanjing Massacre have anything to do with Korea?

  • FUCK YOU CLOE TAKE THIS SHIT DOWN NOW!

  • cont.

Corruption, disorder, and famine dramatically increased during and after the war. Korea was left devastated and traumatized over the next 300 years in misery."

  • Isn't it strange that Germany can recover from an invasion in 20 years and it takes Korea 300?

  • Hold on...I hope you meant Germany's recovery after the Thirty Years War, because it would be silly to compare Germany's recovery of WWI or WW2 in 20th century events, which had very fast manufacturing technologies, fascism, Marshall Plan, and other very unique factors. It simply cannot be fairly compared with a late 16th or early 17th century event.

  • Waenom, stop with your pointless nationalism here, the Imjin war was over 400 yrs. ago and there are very few things that historians disagree (if you discount the "amateur" nationalistic historians) unlike Japanese colonialism. Also, Koreans took about 100 years to recover not 300; Korea had a prosperous 18th cent., if not thriving. Also unlike what Buck said, Germany also took anywhere between 50-100 years to recover not just 20 years.

  • Korea would have recovered faster through unity with Japan.

  • Ha! you just exposed your true colors now. I've seen few Korean nuts talking about taking over Manchuria (if Koreans really do that with West's support what I see another Palestine-Israel conflict). But what you have just said made yourself look just like them.

Seriously, you nationalist are no better than 21st century living man with a late 19th century militaristic mentality. Heck, even a good chunk of people in 19th century didn't indulge with such silliness.

  • I type one sentence, and somehow you ignore the topic, make a personal attack, and pretend you know everything about me. Nice job!

  • How did I ignore the topic? Please explain.

How did I personally attack you? I attacked the silly old-fashioned imperialist idea of previous imperialist country's delusion of: If [our previous colony] stayed with us, they would have recovering faster.

Suggesting such idea would have been fine (although still militaristic and violent) if you could demonstrate, countering my previous argument of how Koreans fared better when they were recovering by themselves rather than with Japanese's help.

  • Japanese invasions of Korea a.k.a. Imjin War (1592-1598): "Brutal Japanese invaders committed countless atrocities and slaughtered around 1 to 3 million people, mostly civilians. The Japanese also burned palaces, public buildings, temples, and private homes. A large number of treasures and technologies in Korea were either stolen or destroyed. Many technicians, artisans, architects, and scholars, etc. were kidnapped to Japan.

  • It is sad to hold a grudge for 400 years.

It is odd that in the entire web the quote of... what?... only appears on your channel.

  • If anyone wants to know what Korea was like before Japan liberated the 99% of people who were peasants and slaves and started to educate them, they can simply google

Corea: The Hermit Nation by William Elliot Griffis

It is a free Google Book.

  • Please, that book is not a credible historian's research, but facts gathered by traveler, or just a very poor historian: after checking the book as you suggested, I found out a major flaw in its first page: it says that Shinra sent youths to study in Nanking, the Capital of China at the time. Well, China at the time was Tang, and its capital was Chang'an, NOT Nanking.

Going through the book, the book has significant bias of orientalist views that disqualified the credibility of this book.

  • Griffis traveled to Korea frequently at that time, so I trust his view. Present day South Korean textbooks show so many beautiful water colour illustrations of Korea in 1894. It is pure fantasy.

  • Alright, since you selectively decided to accept a point of view that degrades Korea, I will do the same by choosing another western orientalist, Francesco Carletti. He said:

"A [Japanese] girl's father...will without hesitation sell her as a prostitute before she is married, under the pressure of poverty, which is very severely felt throughout the whole country."

Now, do you think it's fair for me to represent this biased point of view to Japan as whole?

  • You misquoted. The phrase "for a few pence" was deleted. If you falsify quoted material, how can we discuss the topic honestly?

We can safely discount anything written by a Christian bigot who is only trying to prove the inferiority of the heretic.

  • The whole quote:

"girl's own father, mother, or brothers -w/o any feeling of shame on the part of any of those concerned- will w/o any hesitation sell her as a prostitute before she is married, for a few pence, under the pressure of poverty, which is very severely felt throughout the whole country.

Yes I accidentally omitted the for a few pence part due to space, but the context is not misguided in the slightest sense, which does not compromise my honesty. (Unless you're into minor nitpick)

  • Pence have never been a currency in Japan, so the comment is obviously false.

  • Carletti' wrote for the European reading audience, and he had to use their currency in order for them to understand. He did not even specified the cost of the Japanese prostitute, but by saying pence it only meant that the cost was little.

As you can see, Carletti and Griffis incorporated a lot of Western/Christian standards in their writings E. Asian countries; they thought that anything that is West or West-like was better. All this makes historians approach their writing as something flawed

  • If you are writing about Carletti, write about Carletti. If you are writing about Griffis, write about Griffis. Don't pretend they are the same person. They are from different countries writing in different centuries.

I think that if we want to have an objective historical record about Korea, we need to read what was written at the time by Koreans and non-Koreans. Reading present-day revisionist fantasies makes no sense.

  • I never pretended that Carletti and Griffis were the same person. I just said that they have a shared opinion of having a biased opinion that favors West and West-like qualities. Yes they lived in different times, but you failed to give a explicit reason why it cannot be compared, like I did with Germany's recovery after WWI and WWII with recovery after Thirty years of war.

I do agree that different perspectives are needed, but also recognize how some negative and positive views are biased.

  • You see, most legitimate Korean and Japanese university historians are very objective and rational.

The vast majority of "revisionist fantasies" are written by untrained historians that pretends to know the correct methods of historiography.

Unfortunately, it is only the true trained professional historians that can distinguish between what is considered "right history" and "fake history".

My point is that, don't be persuaded by any history that INSULTS or SELF-GLORIFIES.

  • I absolutely agree with you. That is why I must laugh at current South Korean history textbooks for children that paint a picture of Korea before 1905 that looked pretty ideal, with everyone riding around on horseback in colourful costumes. Rather than using watercolour paintings to illustrate textbooks, actual photos might be more useful.

  • Actually, both Korea and Japan likes to portray themselves in a very colorful and fashionable temples and dresses. Remember, if Koreans are demonstrating the pretty aspects of their culture, it will NOT be 19th century. Likewise, Japan's many color woodblock printings are exaggerated (like manga) for the sake of "coolness". Also both countries seems to be reconstructing (mostly "fix" reconstruction) old building to the point where it looks vastly different from originals.

  • Dear, CloeBuck. No matter how hard you try, any fool can see that you are you are blinded by hate of Koreans, or at best, you like some Korean individuals but hate the country (or think they are inferior, which is absurd).

To all Koreans and Japanese: It is ok to be patriotic, but you don't have to degrade each other in order to self-glorify. In fact, such individuals will make their country look bad.

Just like this clip, they tend to "cherry pick" the bad things and preach like madman.

  • sorry, I meant to say: **"hate TO Koreans"**, although there are plenty silly Korean who are hateful too (I guess you are not alone).

CloeBuck: I don't hate you or anything, it's just your close-to-fanatic habit of badmouthing Koreans (I do bad-mouth any justification of Japanese imperialism AND Koreans who just criticize ANYTHING that is Japanese, BECAUSE all rational-legitimate historians seems to do so too) that makes you look hateful. It's OK to say how beautiful Japan is, but not by hate

  • I don't badmouth Koreans overall. I support Lee MB overall, although I disagree on some points. I am proud of South Korea's economic development. I think Samsung is a great company.

It is because I love South Korea so much that I want to help the people mature their attitude and escape from the trap that is hurting them. I discovered that the best way in life to achieve something is to not blame others but to work hard and rely on yourself.

  • "It is because I love South Korea so much that I want to help the people mature their attitude and escape from the trap that is hurting them."

As far as I can see, Japan and Korea shares lots of similar virtues and flaws, but also none of them seems to be in any position to "guide" the other. In fact, nobody has the right to guide anyone, unless if such "help" really comes from a humble, sincere, and absolutely no "I'm better than you" stance (even indirectly) , which is very rare to see.

  • How can you say I hate Koreans? I'm married to one!

I'm just trying to lend balance to the debate.

I don't believe South Korea can ever mature into an advanced country until it lets go of the habit of blaming others.

  • Good for you. Personally marriage is based on individual affection, and nationality has no place in it.

Spaniards in 16th cent. married native South Americans, but they still saw Spanish people as superior race. And, they are the ones who culturally genocided, and replaced with "better" Catholicism.

But remember, it is absolutely fine to constructively criticize Korea as long as you believe its flaws are no worse than Japan's, and believe me, Japan has its own share of problems/flaws.

  • Btw, Griffis was also a Christian who wrote a lots of superior Christian virtues. But then, it is unfair to disqualify anything someone writes due to Christianity, but these two people were clearly Biased towards the West and West-like qualities.

  • Did he really travel to Korea?

Where is the proof for this?

  • Alas, you're too lazy to google William Elliot Griffis.

  • CloeBuckingham, stop with your mix of lies and truths: Yangban were Korean hereditary class known for their literacy: even the military yangban took military exams that required interpreting military classic texts such as Art of War. Average yangban contitued around10% (usually more) of pop. NOT 1%. The funny thing is, at the end of Japanese colonial period (1945) literacy rate in Korea was 22%, and the literacy rate in S. Korea in 1961 became 71%. And this was when Korea was really poor.

  • What you wrote is a kind of nonsense, though at least you admit that Japan more than doubled literacy in Korea.

The yangban did not personify the examination system of China. In Korea, the examination system was corrupt, and yangban was virtually an inherited status, because of this corruption. Those who were not yangban really had no chance to pass the examination.

Korea also had slavery. It was absolutely destitute. It could not have supported 10% yangban. There was no economy, roads, rail.

  • 1) Japan did more than double the literacy in Korea in 35 years, but Korea managed to more than triple the literacy in less than half of 35 years (despite of Korean War). Clearly, my point was that Japanese tutelage did benefit Korea, but it is highly doubtful if it would have been better if Korea had ruled itself.

    3) Yes, Korea had slavery, until late 19th century, but so did U.S. until 1850. Clearly it was a bad thing, but for many pre-modern states it was a reality.

  • I never said that examination system was open to all. Japan too, only Samurai could be Samurai until Meiji Era in mid-late 19th cent. It is true that by beginning of 19th century the Korean government became corrupt. But any argument that says Japan annexing Korea was the best answer to overcome the Korea's problem is flawed because:1. Korea loses sovereignty 2. Koreans interest becomes secondary at best, and 3. Under Japanese colonialism Koreans always had a discriminatory secondary status.

  • Considering how perilous it was to be a samurai, I do not think it is a birthright to be envied. Better to be an artisan, musician, or monk.

Korea's interests are not secondary when Korea and Japan are the same country. Secondary to what? The same country? The roads and facilities Japan helped to build on the peninsula were bigger and better than in Japan. People in Honshu endured hyperinflation during the period of investment in Korea.

Is being in the Japanese diet discriminatory?

  • 1) I don't believe that a Samurai's life was "perilous" in the peaceful Tokugawa Period. The only thing that was perilous, was that they didn't have any wars to fight or in another words, had limited jobs, thus many became ronins.

    2) Secondary to many various things, such as: lawfully a Korean can get 3 months of prison even with frivolous acts like practicing shamanism or hygiene matters (was there any clear law of what constitutes "clean"? provably just a silly excuse to arrest).

  • 2) (continued)

About the Japanese investment to road and facilities: Yes Japan did a superb job on building those, but note that poor people (about 2/3 of Korean population, under Japanese colonial government) rarely could affort to those benefits, and the real reason why such investment were made was because the Imperial Japan thought that Korea was the starting point to expand their continental empire, and all those roads needed to be connected with Manchuria, the next colonial target.

  • 3) Koreans having some position in the Diet? Yes, very few Koreans had that, but they were all collaborators (although we should not oversimplify this term; like anyone in this world, some of collaborators just wanted a stable life with a decent paycheck, like all of us, but some collaborators really did sold out their country.), and collaborators depended their power on Japanese, so this representation was really only a face value.

  • This has nothing to do with racism. This has to do with correcting the view that Japan came to Korea and destroyed its culture and enslaved and impoverished its people.

Korea was extremely poor when Japan merged with Korea. There were fewer than 100 schools, and Japan built 5,000. Japan tried to educate all Koreans. The yangban hoarded education for only the top 1%.

I have Korean friends, and I respect Koreans. I just want to counter misinformation.

  • Taiwanese knows the South Korean was a very poor country.

The South Korean tells a lie unabashedly.

The South Korean is doing "History fabrication" now.

  • I believe in friendship between Taiwan and Japan.

    watch?v=gwPwOrmdlMs

  • You believe in this fake friendship?

Please, sayuponful is OBVIOUSLY Japanese pretending to be a Taiwanese!

  • For me, it is not a matter of "belief in" something. Belief is for the irrational South Koreans who readily adopt the Christian religion of the Americans. When I speak, I speak from actual experience based on my travels in Taiwan and my ongoing friendships with Taiwanese people. Even my best friend is Taiwanese, and I communicate with his father in Japanese. Old people in Taiwan speak Japanese, but not English.

  • OK, you are good at making up some Bullcrap, but why bring up South Koreans and religion? Are you that insane and hateful?

Please show me the evidence and back up your comments, if you're brave enough. Sounds like your same-old lies and made-up stories to me.

  • I am not making up bull crap. I am happy to provide the names of famous Koreans who kept their Korean names.

I am not insane and hateful. I am merely pointing out that after the Korean War, when South Koreans were very poor, the Americans went there to take advantage o their desperation. The Americans spread a religion that requires you to "believe in" things based on faith, not evidence.

This is not the Japanese way, which is why Japan has always embraced scientific progress.

  • That is very off-topic, it is very to blame Koreans for the problems of Japan, or compare South Korea to Japan's spiritual illness, or to the fake friendship between Taiwan and Japan. I think you are mentally unstable, if it's fine with you, please get a checkup at a nearest hospital for your mental health.

  • Apparently, you lost the argument, so you made a personal attack.

Nobody in Korea was every FORCED to change their name PERIOD.

  • Your insanity astonishes me. When did I ever mention Koreans name-changing during Japanese annexation?

  • What kind of argument, anyways? I was attacking you honestly since the very beginning.

  • Why would you be attacking me honestly? You shouldn't attack me. Rather, you should use facts and logic to criticise my ideas. You don't know me personally.

  • Comment removed

  • If you hate, blame, and lie to others without any good reason or experience, then you are hateful and paranoid. By reading your arrogant comments, I am probably right about you.

  • I don't hate anyone. Why would you think that? If I blame others, it is only because I believe they did something wrong. I do not intentionally lie. What's the point? It's only YouTube.

If you are going to attack me, you should refer to specific comments, quotations, events, etc. It is hard to know how to respond to such vague attacks.

People who worship Roh Moo Hyun as their messiah have a religious conviction. But religion does not enter into my ideas about politics.

  • Your ideas are too extreme, and it makes me think you are some crazy person in real life, since you are posting unnecessary and pointless comments in this site.

If you want to show your personal opinion, then why don't you post a video of yourself and your experience, rather than copying and pasting stuff from other sources?

  • I am not interested in losing my privacy and becoming a YouTube celebrity. Fame is not my goal.

You say my ideas are extreme just, because they are new to you. So you need to do your research and come back to me. But unless you are more specific, it is impossible for me to reply.

  • You will not become a YouTube celebrity nor will you become famous. Your privacy may be lost, but if you want to prove your opinions and experiences with other cultures, you need to at least show that you've been to that particular place.

These ideas are not new to me, I've read similar comments over again with the same idea from other Japanese, like saying "Koreans hate everyone, they are slaves of everyone, they claim everything, etc etc.. That, I think, is very illogical and extreme paranoia

  • I never said those things.

I am not sure why you are interested in me. If you don't like me, why don't you just ignore me?

  • You posted countless comments in other videos attacking or criticizing Korea, it is true that you are paranoid and hateful deep inside your unstable mind.

  • How do you know what is deep inside my mind without being in my mind?

  • Name changes increased to 80%, but nevertheless 20% kept their Korean names. I have already given the facts. You need to read through all the comments.

"In 1939, the change of Korean names into Japanese was highly recommended, and almost 80 percent of Koreans followed suit (Lee 1997:109)."

  • That's very illogical and evil of you to blame the Koreans and glorify Japanese annexation.

  • Evil is a kind of Christian label used before a crusade or something like that, right?

I am not blaming the Koreans for anything. I am merely pointing out that Korea was an extremely poor place with slavery that was greatly improved in health, education, and economy by Japan. Japanese investment has continued for more than 100 years and continues today.

I am not glorifying anything. I am just pointing out false claims made about the annexation. There was even a Korean MP for Tokyo.

  • In your other comments, you blame Koreans.

  • I don't blame "Koreans" for anything. I have many Korean friends. I am married to a Korean. I have a SK bank account!

I blame CERTAIN Korean for fabricating history, supporting Kim Jong Il, and brainwashing our children. In particular, I blame Kim Dae Jung and Roh Moo Hyun and their idiotic Sunshine Policy. However, I have no problem with 2MB, except for his Christian lunacy, and I like the Grand National Party.

  • guys, you should be never mention about "manner" because on youtube, many cazy anti-japan people loves to use "Jap" or whichever by the way.

you should stop using that term, if you never wanna hear of yours something.

    OK? idiots. lol

  • ばかだね、世界は、主張したものの価値なんですよ。現に中国や韓国のプロパガンダは、日本を消滅させようと必死でネットを使用しているよ。

  • Unfortunately, foolish people actually believe Chinese and Korean propaganda about Japan.

Adolph Hitler said that if you tell a big enough lie, nobody will imagine you are lying. And if you repeat it often, people will start to believe it.

It seems China and Korea have learned a lesson in propaganda from Hitler.

  • I agree it.

  • shut up nuts lol

you should face your guilty business as well.. wimps

  • gooks, you should be Heil Jap !! lol

actually if japan never helped Korea, your country turns to be a piece of rock, Not even nation .lol Stop anti-jap lol

  • 日本人か!

This account was created the same day of the post. It is an example of Koreans or other nationalities pretending to be Japanese in order to ruin the reputation of Japanese people.

Of course, real Japanese people can easily spot the fake, because they do not behave as members of a civilised society.

  • No, he is really Japanese. Many Japanese users are right-wing in YouTube. Don't lie.

  • But such a rude comment is not Japanese manner. The use of racist insults is not acceptable to Japanese.

  • "It is an example of Koreans or other nationalities pretending to be Japanese in order to ruin the reputation of Japanese people."

Koreans do not care or have the time to troll on YouTube. Trust me, I'm Korean. Japanese and Chinese users are more prominent in the YouTube community.

  • why is your name... waenom.. i just realized that. 왜놈? as in like the term that degraded the japanese?

  • Venom is also from 왜놈.

I don't care how I was called by Koreans.

  • You sound funny.

  • Hey, Cloe. what is your damn motive? We all know you Japanese think like this:

We helped Korea. We did nothing wrong. We are good. They are bad. We tried to liberate Asia, etc.

  • That seems like an oversimplification.

Of course, Japan committed wartime atrocities, just like any other nation at war. In fact, Japan committed an unusual number of atrocities, because of Japanese attitudes against surrender, etc., at the time.

I am only trying to balance out the view of history that is basically anti-Japanese. Japan did both good things and bad things, but it is unfair to say that Japan only did bad things. However, that is the impression given by many Koreans.

  • It was not AIDING KOREA. they already forced korea to speak japanese and banned korean. they brainwashed younger generation to think that korea is now japan.

  • If this were true, it is strange that famous Korean entertainers kept their Korean names.

  • I don't want to replay to your nonsense.

You're definitely an outdated, brainwashed Japanese soldier from the 1800s.
