No doubt JL had his own sound. Keith Emerson had his C-3 and Leslies also with Hi-Watt amps but not quite like Lord's sound. Rick Wakeman had his Hammonds also through speakers and he has his sound. John Lord came up with a sound to compete and compliment Ritchie Blackmore's Heavy Metal Guitar.
This is to illustrate that enough is never enough an too much is just right. Jon is bypassing the leslie and tries to rape your sence of hearing by going straight into an amp. Awesome.
Great playing Dude! As to Jon Lord, he had a custom made (Switch Box) that would transfer his B-3's signal back and forth from either a Marshall Amp or a Leslie. (You can see it in any of the old D.P. Live videos, Duct Taped on the upper left side of his Hammond!
Thanks! I used those settings on my B3 to see if it would sound like yours even though you went through a Guitar Amp in this clip. The Leslie w/PR-40 Tone Cabinet sounded the same and I had to be careful with the volume because the windows and other things were rattling. LOL!! Sounds really good playing "Smoke on the Water." Thanks again!!
Jag kan inte noter och tonarter så bra. Går på gehör. Men jag tror riffet börjar på G. Riffet är inte något ackord. G ton och sedan D ton och full dist. Pröva och lysna. inte så svårt.
sounds killer!

@awaken77 Correct, he primarily used Marshall amps until 1973 or 1974 when he switched to more conventional Leslies.
