@BlueDodge07 twin turbo BD R750 or equivalent. 120hp injectors and a a built tranny or if ur a stick then a valair clutch and you will def. need head work for 700 also a lift pump and a smarty. Now if you want to spend a hole lot less money then 600hp is MUCH simpler and easier. single 64 or 66m turbo by 14 by 71 and 120 hp injectors and a smarty and a no head work and a built tranny

If the dynos not a load dyno it will not be able to load down a diesel engine enough to measure actual peak hp/tq. A Diesel needs a little load to produce peak power. So people power brake if they are running on a non-load dyno to simulate it. Good question!

That may be an expensive truck, but 150,000 is incredibly excessive even for a 1000 hp build-up. Diesel engines have massive potential, and really it would only cost about 30-40k dollars to build the engine to that amount of power safely. I'd guess another 5-10 in drivetrain parts to handle the power, as well, but not nearly 150k.

But it could also be that the same setup would get destroyed on a hard takeoff for something like a drag race, and especially for a sled pull.

i have a buddy that is running around 1200 hp TO THE WHEELS, he works in the oilfield in alberta. its his everyday driver and his toy. only thing he had to do to the drivetrain is a extreme duty clutch, but any chance he gets hes at the track spanking all the s/c mustangs,vettes, and vipers, and he sled pulls everyonce and a while. its really not hard to make ur shit last if you know how to drive something with that much power....

a truck can have 5,000 hp but if u drive it responsibly you wont break anything ur only worry will be fuel costs, i have a friend with a 11 second 400ish hp honda and thats his daily driver, as long as he keeps it out of boost aka under 2500rpm abouts its like any other honda, same goes for a diesel truck easy on the throtle and its like any other truck on the road just has more in reserve!

Lol, that's all fine and dandy that your friend has a 400 hp Honda, but a 1000 hp diesel engine is a much different story. These trucks are built with industrial components, but it's still all iron and steel, nothing like titanium and billet steel. And these trucks produce so much more torque than they do hp. Your friend's honda is probably making 350 or less lb-ft of torque. These engines will generally have at least 20% more torque than hp and it can be as much as 80% more when built well.

The 6.7 gets between 13 and 17 mpg highway because of that damn DPF bullshit. His old 5.9 got 17 on a bad day. Best he got was 23.

Both. I assure you there are many more 1000+ hp Cummins than there are Duramax or Powerstroke. Published dynamometer readings of HP and Torque numbers of the trucks competing in Dyno Days at the major diesel truck events show Dodge / Cummins far and away has more 1000+ hp trucks.
