If I'm heard correctly, President Washington warned his colleagues to "beware of the spirit of party". I'm persuaded that individuals need to be represented by individuals. Party is a polite word for faction and factions have survival instincts and take on a life of their own.

muff - he is challenging Republican incumbent Charlie Dent (DHS committee member), who is big war, votes frequently with Pelosi, votes frequently against the Constitution, for the Patriot ACT, the first Bank bailout, believes CO2 is a pollutant, etc, etc, etc...Or so I am told : )
