I heard being a police officer can be very boring and highly stressful from many people. Im not sure if i still want to pursue a career like in law enforcement if this is true. Btw i live in Canada, BC so it would probably be RCMP unless municipal.

Its interesting to hear somebody comment on how much they hate cops. But 99% of the time it is because they did something that is against the law and got caught. *I* sure as hell never wanted to be a police officer. I lived in Los Angeles and all their police officers appeared to be targets for criminals. Then I lived in New York City, and the idea of being a police officer became equal to being in a war zone.

I don't think they even get combat pay, like my brother does.

My friend was an LAPD officer, and he got shot on a routine call, whatever a routine call is. I met him b/c I was an EMT then.

He almost died from the wound.

The money is really good, starting base is around 45,000 and only after 5 years on the force you could be making base 75,000 and that doesn't even include overtime
