Yo, Dan.. I noticed you said tilt up when doing sc. Wuzzat from? o: or is that just an old strat you used a while back?

I personally point nose down and drift upon landing...

Also when landing SC, I point the joystick to the right then go left for better landing / faster(ish) mt.

I'm working on a new strat (Tricking on the halfpipe after the cannon) It's slightly faster; the key is to hit the halfpipe very early...

Hey I can do everything but don't laugh except dodge the Shy Guy's at the end the first one no problem I go down to do the trick over the turn before the end of the lap and I hit then any tips?

Not really, other than trying to control your bike on the zipper and planning to go higher or lower on the last boost to dodge the shy guys.

@031000ron1 I guess I'd have to see what happens when you try to do it to help you better; all I can say is it's better to try and do it slowly while you're learning how to do it, as long as you're going fast enough to drift. And then you have to figure out the right time to press the drift button.

Sorry maybe Im not reading this right but your saying you actually use your pointer finger on the toggle? Wow, wouldn't they need to be on the L and R for drift? Thanks

Yeah, and I use my left hand middle finger on the L button for items. I also hold A and use B to drift instead of R... I'm not exactly sure why but I guess it's cause I got used holding 2 and pressing 1 on the Wiimote to drift.

When you use the GC controller do you use the d-pad to wheelie? Or is there a special way you can configure it to wheelie with same control you use to drive? Seems like it would be very hard to constantely go from the control stick to d-pad just to wheelie, with such sharp and precise turns, etc etc

There's no way to change the configuration that I know of (other than possibly hacking, but I don't hack). When I play though, I use my thumb and my pointer finger on the control stick, and I can press the control stick with my pointer finger while I press the dpad with my thumb.

I'm afraid they're right about the controller. The wheel is much harder to use...not to mention more fun. I have little respect for 3 stars and no gold wheel. All the WR are set with controllers, sure, but that's because they are easier, therefore much less impressive.

I got a few notes / questions:

1. It's middle left of the cannon, no middle right.. right?

2. Is there a way to practice on the double shortcut strat more easily?

3. Is the master ramp strategy THAT hard? As seen in the video, you put caps on the "Master Level Strategy" to show how hard this strat is. I can go very low.. well, now as low as you, but low enough!

1. No, it's middle or middle right... Middle left might be slightly faster but it's not worth it. I aim for the middle, but it's easier to make the jump if you aim farther to the right.

2. Erm... not that I can think of...

3. Ok, maybe it's not that hard. But it's easy to lose a lot of time there if you don't do the trick right. Also, if you hop and drift through the trick, you can't go as fast as if you don't. And if you don't believe that, watch 2:12 to 2:17 of The Battle For DK Summit Part 5. The old WR ghost goes very low, but still loses .1 or more seconds because of hopping and drifting through the trick.

Well, thanks alot for your help anyway! It help me quite a bit on the ramp strat. Watching you perform the double shortcut in slow motion makes us think it's not so hard, but when we try in in real time, it's.... hard! :)

But yeah, the double shortcut and the whole course in general isn't that easy. I expect to get the WR again too, but I'm not sure how long it will take...

The guide is for the gamecube controller. I think the wheel is hardest to use. Between the others, probably the one your most comfortable with would be best.
