These two have such great chemistry, and I love that they're such good friends. This is one of the funniest Jiminy skits I've seen yet. Thanks for the upload! =)
@FilmDisney "...does no appeal to a smarter crowd"??!! Wow! Quite an indictment! That's a debatable comment, as humor is a matter of taste, and purely personal. I'd be curious to know what makes YOU laugh!
@chalomirof63 What is your point, I actually don't understand your argument. If you are arguing that Steve Martin appeals to a smart audience just look at the filmography. The Pink Panther series, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Big Year, Sgt. Bilko, Mixed Nuts, My Blue Heaven, Housesitter, Bringing Down the House. Are you seriously arguing that Steve Martins produces intellectual, thought-provoking work?
@FilmDisney My point - Einstein, my little contrarian for the sake of being contrary - is that Steve Martin IS an extremely bright guy, contrary to many of the less than serious movies he's been in. He's also been connected to works of seriousness, (I'll let you peruse the ENTIRE list, not just the titles YOU chose to list). (Believe it or not, he actually narrated a doc. on Edward Hopper - just one of the examples of the "serious" Martin.) And yes: I'm quite serious. Are you?
@chalomirof63 I'm not suggesting that Steve Martin isn't smart, I'm just saying that his audience is generally not as sophisticated as he might suggest, he's mainstream
@FilmDisney Well, maybe. But I'm not sure where that line between mainstream and unconventional is located. Not too easy for any of us to discern. But your last comment was pretty nice, so we're okay now, I hope, lol.
This is my favorite Glick interview. "It didn't play! Not according to the people I've spoken to!"
"And so therefore Glen Gould was just a family friend." The absurdity of every question he asks and every single thought he has is truly brilliant. Him mispronouncing "Godot." He's insulting Steve Martin at every turn.
"What's Shopgirl about? It's about a relation---SEEN IT!"
"But why would you think I would have an opinion on that? Cause Catherine Bell was born on your birthday." Brilliant.
When a great humorist such as Martin Short can break up a fellow great humorist like Steve Martin, it is so awesome. Typically comedians will purposely act as if nothing the other comedian does is funny, so in this case it's so cool to see Martin Short make Steve Martin laugh. You can tell it's genuine.
LOL i can't get over that exaggerated face he makes at 0:23 when he says "you were born steven..."(exaggerated face)...hahaha that's the exact type of thing that makes me laugh!

I'm sorry but Steve Martin's humour does not appeal to a smarter crowd, in fact he is about as mainstream as a comedian gets

2:37, Steve Martin's trademark bewilderment look. I love it, the man is a legend!
He and Martin Short work so well together.
Marty knows just how to play to steve's great sense of humor.
