  • That my favorite Athena one :)

  • Where do u get these vids???

  • Athena is a maiden goddess . She only has children cuz they're brainchildren.

  • Athena is ALWAYS portrayed with a British accent! Well, not always, if you count Paris Jefferson in Xena. I guess it makes her sound more intelligent. Which means that this film was obviously made before Made in Chelsea was ever conceived! :P

  • it was not athena who should be the virgin one!it's artemis!read the books!

  • @huddley25 uh...Athena IS one of the maiden goddesses....her demigod children are what they call brain child....

  • I'm glad you uploaded this video, Athena is my favourite Greek Goddess. EVER. And I love owls. ;)

  • THEY'RE SUPPOSED BE 12! XC

  • MY GOD! THEY'RE SUPPOSED BE 12! XC

  • MY GOD! THEY'RE SUPPOSED BE 12! XC

  • Athena was/is supposed the virgin goddess. She did have one sort of offspring, I wouldn't necessarily call him her child though. To not be crude, a god released himself upon her person and when she wiped it away...tada, a child was born. She has never ever had sexual relations though...the end.

  • @1stbrasscaptain if you've read the book, you'd know why she has children (brain children)

  • @JoseGarciaVilla Oh, I'm terribly sorry. I haven't read the book series...I love any and everything (historically/mythologically correct) about Athena/Minerva. Brain children...interesting. @_@

  • @1stbrasscaptain Athena does not have sexual relations when giving birth to children, so technically she is a virgin. Athena gives birth to children just by their thoughts, because that's how she was born: from the head of Zeus. This personifies the fact that her children are brain thinkers; logical thinkers; battle strategists. Smart people, I suppose you would say.

  • @Writergurl24 *her

  • @Writergurl24 Well, isn't that food for thought...thank you for adding to her amazing repertoire. That's why she's my favorite Greek goddess, with her plethora of abilities and what not. Also, she has one of the most striking appearances of all the goddesses...the shield (with the gorgon's head emblazoned upon it), the spear, the gorgeous helmet, the owl that remains perched upon her person, flowing battle dress/tunic, and her steady unwavering gaze.

  • @1stbrasscaptain I agree with you! Athena is my favorite goddess! I admire her wisdom and her abilities and her wit it battle! And of course her being the goddess of crafts!

  • @1stbrasscaptain

i totally agree...in the book's, her children were born the way she was...from thoughts..;)

  • @ffsah1 Oh, how interesting...this intrigues me to no end.

  • @1stbrasscaptain

wow...someone really needs to show you how to watch your attitude or to watch your sarcasm..

  • @ffsah1 Attitude? What sarcasm? I'm being genuine...Athena is one of the most interesting figures in Greek mythology and different perspectives about her abilities genuinely fascinate. I'm not inserting any subtle snide comments or remarks into this discussion. I'm befuddled by your comment...are you adding something lighthearted to this volleying of ideas? If so, hurray! If not, :(

  • @1stbrasscaptain yup, in fact, it was Hephastus who tried to.. well... r*p* her. Not to be rash, but it was true.

and yes, in disgust, athena wiped it away and as you said: "Tada" a child was born

  • @cherchen99 More often than not, when the male gods are overcome by their desires that's what happens. -_- Sad, and true.

  • @cherchen99 but the child has Hephaestus for the father and Gaea for the mother....Hephaestus' semen dropped on to the earth, thus the Earth gave birth to the child...and gave the child to Athena, who was the foster mother..I have a thesis that probably weighs about 1kg sitting on my desk with all these Greek myths in it...

  • @1stbrasscaptain her demigod children sprang from the divine thoughts of their mother and the mortal thoughts of their father....have you even read the book?

  • @Sheira89 No, I actually have never read the series...I am primarily divulging the information that I know from the Greek mythologies. Is the series worth reading if you are a mythology purist? Thank you for the information also.

  • @1stbrasscaptain Yes...it is worth reading....it makes it easier to understand.

  • @Sheira89 Thank you for the recommendation...it's not Christmas yet...perhaps a belated gift. ^_^

  • @1stbrasscaptain, it's worth reading as long as you can deal with it not being quit "authentic" they updated everything to make it more sensible in today's world. Of course the world has changed a lot since Ancient Greece, so they had to change a few things. They kept all the characters the same though, and didn't mix up the Olympian's powers and characteristics which is nice. The plot of course is purely fictional which gives it an interesting twist.

  • @NessaHalrigada I am intrigued...although, how was the film? Did the book translate well onto the big screen? I know that depending on the writers, directors, etcetera the film can either be fantastic or dreadful.

*Sidenote. I have always wanted to see a film with just the gods and goddesses...there are so many stories that can be told with them. A movie would make my dreams become reality. ^_^*

  • @1stbrasscaptain You're talking about Hestia

  • I love Melina sooo much. I have this on my dvd.

Percy Jackson was a cool film.

  • Annabeth was suppose to have blonde hair and grey eyes, LOL . :| but oh well.

  • @JoeCentraI she's still freaking hot

  • @JoeCentraI

I the Titan's Curse she had black hair.

  • @EmilyIsExciting LOL.. No she didn't. I think you got her mixed up with Thalia.

  • Whooops! I was thought that you said ATHENA not ANNABETH.

    Excuse my stupidity(:

  • Comment removed

  • @SweetChocolateFudge Uhm. Can you read? I said ANNABETH WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BLONDE HAIR AND GREY EYES. Where on earth did you see Athena? & some person said she has black hair, but I thought she got it mixed up with Thalia. But, the person said they thought I said athena. Read again.

  • Comment removed

  • @SweetChocolateFudge Why are you telling me this? When at ALL did I talk about Athena in the comment section? Not once. I know Athena has black hair that's a no shitter, so why you saying shit thats irrelevant?

  • @JoeCentraI That's how I imagine Athena to look; black hair and grey eyes. Well, in my artwork, I unknowingly made her look like a slightly more decently-dressed Xena.

  • @JoeCentraI i like her better in the movie though

  • Annabeth was a brain child. Athena gave birth to her just from thoughts. u should read Percy Jackson and the battle of the Labyrinth. And i hated the character selections!!!

  • Understandably that this is a movie and a novel, but would the writer of the Percy Jackson series please explain what tempted one of the two VIRGIN goddesses (who both vowed to stay virgins) suddenly mother a child? That would be one interesting story.

  • @TerrasAngelsDemon

Annabeth is a brain child--Athena did not have physically give birth to Annabeth. She fell in love with Fredrick Chase, and had Athena from her head, like how Zeus had Athena. So, Athena didn't have sex, and she is still a virgin.

  • @mahasalimable

Thanks. I never read the book so yea

  • stop whining it's just a movie

  • @bush203

sorry, it's just that i read the books and loved them, and then they make a half-assed movie adaptation and change almost everything about it in order to make pop-culture references or save money.

It's just rude to the source material.

  • @Deimos858 yeah and the movie was good in my opinion

  • SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLOND!

  • @Deimos858 In the Titan's Curse it was said she had black hair. And also if you look at the Rick Riordan official website and look at Athena's description it is said that she has dark hair not blond. I guess it's just that all her children gets there hair color from their dads. Athena only falls in love with guys who have blond hair lolz ><

  • @SweetChocolateFudge oh, I forgot about that part lol, I was caught in the heat of the moment when ranting and being angry at the movie. But thanks for the correction, I was kinda looking like an angry fanboy lol
