  • Awesome, I bought the DAS Parka because I thought it would be a good choice, this makes me even more confident in it (haven't tried it yet).

  • @Thrusthamster how is the parka treating you dog

  • There is no such thing as "IFMGA certification", just IFMGA membership. Steve was certified by the AMGA. AMGA grants membership in the IFMGA to fully certified AMGA members. Get it right!!

  • look can somebody else confirm that this stuff is good over 8000? is steve house cold blooded? doesnt seem possible.

  • THis would pack really light, unlike what the first fella said, no sherpas needed! Besides, their not slaves to carry your stuff, their more like guides to help you and they are very expensive!

  • in nepal mid winter no snow exp at all esp at this height exp tried to go up to bhairab kund 4500m. bought cheap local pants seams exploded on me after third bodyweight squat in shop. Then swiss seam sealed it, then super glue and cloth tape on weak points, then waterproof spray on the outside, then rubber glue on the side zipper and pockets and above process too.

  • never been that high up, but I imagine it would take experience to fine tune what works best for oneself.

  • I was really atonished he wore that little stuff. No down clothing, amazing.

  • must have needed 5 sherpas to carry that stuff!!!

  • Actually they climbed it in perfect alpine style (two men, one rope, two bags on their bags NO porters, oxygen, fixed rope etc.), 6 days up, 2 days down. BTW Rupal Face of Nanga parbat is 4100 m (13500 ft) high...

  • He reiterates the fact that it's "poofy" and light, therefore it easily shrinks down to a volume he can carry in his pack.

  • @guitardode yeah, probably that's why he recieved the piolet d'or for climbing the route alpine style. google is your friend.

  • Great overview

  • This was a great overview not only of the patagonia clothing system, but also of layering in general - thanks!
