BlackBerry Bold 9700 disassembly tutorial

I have a problem! I replaced the LCD on a bb 9780 and once I did the ear phone speaker doesnt work! I can hear everything on loud speaker but not the ear one! Please tell me why! Is it because I didn't put the plastic cover back on where the SD card connector is? PLEASE HELP!

Great tutorial..........many thanks can you help with this rather vague question????I dropped my bold into a bowl of water by accident....I have nothing to lose by taking it apart and replacing some internal parts as it no longer works fullstop. Q - At best guess what part would need replacing to give me the bext chance of it working or even charging again?

Could you elaborate on that? I followed your very excellent guide to disassemble my phone, but i can't seem to get at the loudspeaker on the rear. I wan't to clean the guck out of the opening, but am having no luck accessing the speaker from the inside of the backplate. Thanks in advance.

@MrMazda11 That is a non-marring pry tool. Very handy in laptop repair. Do not use a screwdriver, you will leave gouges. In this instance, a fingernail will work if you don't have the proper tool.

I had the same issue. They forgot to mention that you have to remove your SIM Card before proceeding. It holds the main board to the housing, you can actually break it if you apply too much pressure, once you remove your SIM Card it should come off pretty easily.

i have issues getting the LAST piece off, it seems like i need to apply lots of pressure to move the mainboard from the rest of the casing, should i be using pressure? or should it just slip out? i dont want to do anything yet incase it breaks..eeeeee can anyone help??

i have a note though, because i spent a long time trying to work out how to change the middle plate and i've seen people commenting about it.. straight to the point, do not change the middle plate. on the 9700, the battery and headphone connections are attached to the middle plate, so changing it requires soldering various wires and you're pretty likely to (excuse the french) cock it up.
