it works for some of the songs on my laptop but not all of them. dont know why. the voices are still there as a whisper and the guitar solos a lot quiter for one song but other than that works fine. thanks for upload

Thanks! I learned how to use audicity! What you taught me didn't work though... but I found another way!!! Just click effects then choose the vocal remover. it'll automatically remove the vocals!!! thanks!!!

put audacity in google. one should pop up that says audacity(dot)com. click. next go to download. the use the one on the right that says beta. if you use windows click on windows. its pretty basic :)

The music files I tried using at first would not allow me to split them (are certain files protected? I used a CD), but when I played back the one that did split, it was just a second-long screeching sound. XD Would you happen to have any advice for me? Thanks for your help!

When I try to add the effect 'invert' the effect menu has a lot of effects listed in it, but I can't select any of them. They're not bold, like other things you can select from drop-down menus, they're faded. Help?

You have to mark the whole audio, then try to click on effect again. =)

ahh i go to effects and i cant click any of the effects.. i just downloaded it and is so confused

you can only use effects if its on stop, make sure the music IS NOT ON PAUSE. or you cant do anything, and make sure you have a selection high lighted for where you want to put the effects. Hope that helps ;)

I had the same problem. But then I downloaded the beta version instead of the regular and I got effects. See if that works for you.

that means that track wont be able to use this method to get rid of the voices. You need to find an audio track thats in "stereo", yours might be a "mono" audio track.
