  • Una gran interpretacion felicidades desde Guadalajara Mexico

  • @guanatos88 Thanks!

  • How many guitars do you own?

  • @RedDeadKitain More than I have time to play at this point in life...LOL

  • nice playing....

funny they went with strats but they could have u used ricks..

  • Great one Buddy as always

  • In the 1980's...

  • Mine was art history. When did you graduate?

  • You mentioned you graduated from UNCW. When? What was your area of study?

  • @zzaldoushuxleyzz My major was Chemistry.

  • beautiful guitar and playing!

  • That timbre is BEAUTIFUL!

  • @MadSpectro7 Thanks!

  • george take the mask off now

  • how many freakin guitars do you own? awesome cover

  • Mr. Clontz might I say that you are a very talented guitar player, I really enjoy listening to your covers. Peace Love and Music always - BoyMoptop

  • Just gonna be like Dad someday....

  • Nice video, found it helpful to my practice.

  • @Colorfulspheres Thanks!

  • Dude I love your kid at the end. I have two little ones (4 yo son and 2 yo daughter) and they know what daddy's 4001c64s is....A RICKENBACKER!!!!!

  • @ironcitydevildog Actually...my kids are 28 and 21, and the little boy is my grandson. His mom is my oldest daughter...LOL He is my favorite little guy!

  • @BuddyClontz Sorry. Either way Im 40 and have a 4 year old and he knows what a Rickenbacker is, and knows "Paul Acartney" as he says it plays the same as mine!!! You gotta love those little guys!!!!! My mom says I have him brainwashed but I'd rather him listen to the Beatles than this Rap crap that is out now!!! The Beatles are quality music for all generations!!! :)

  • @ironcitydevildog I agree!

  • Sweet and uplifting

  • @TheKenfig Thanks!

  • @BuddyClontz I'm assuming this is the 6 string yes ? ; it sounds like though I'm not sure. Is that what 6VP stands for ?

  • @TheKenfig Yes, this is the Ric 360-6VP. Six strings...and the VP stands for "vintage pickups" which are the 7.4 Kohm Toasters like the ones used in the 1950's and 1960's.

  • @BuddyClontz Cool. My fav band is The Beatles but I have been a huge fan of The Byrds since I was about 13 years old in the mid 70s ; I have 7 of their albums Mr. Tambourine Man up to and including Sweetheart Of The Rodeo and also Ballad Of Easy Rider album plus their '67 Greatest Hits,so thats 8 ! - I have a 12 string Martin acoustic myself, and the other guitars I have are a 6 string Gretsch historic series (my favourite of mine) which was only £330 new (about $600 yeah ?) and a real Gibson SG

  • @TheKenfig I have always been a fan of the Byrds and Roger McGuinn is definitely the master of the Rickenbacker 12-string in my opinion. I would love to have a nice Gretsch also...and eventually I may get one as well as a Gibson SG. You can never have too many guitars....LOL

  • @BuddyClontz My Gretsch is purely acoustic though but I love it and play it the most. The semi - acoustic real Gretsch is very expensive new, like a couple of thousand pounds. I would like most a Rickenbacker 12 string ! I guess that's out of my price range unless a second hand one. My SG is made in the USA so it's a good one I got second hand for £550, but I bought a brand new (at the time) Marshall valve state 80 watts amp for it - thanks and all the best !

  • Absolutely Excellent......How about doing "I want to tell you" ?

  • @cville57 Thanks!

  • Oh that sound! If I win the Lotto the first thing on my list is a 12 string Rick

  • @orriblebob They are fine instruments and you'll enjoy playing a Ric if you ever get your hands on one.

  • you must have spent heaps on guitars, how many do you have?

  • @paulmcc11 I have a little bit of change in them....LOL I own 15 right now. I've probably owned 25-30 over the last 35 or so years. You have to keep in mind, these instruments were bought over decades so I didn't just go out and buy them all at once. I still have some of my drum hardware from 1969 and my entire set from 1977 and they still look like new!

  • greetings from Mexico Mr. Clontz

  • This song would be better for a Strat or an Epiphone Casino

  • Only three people in history has mastered the Rickenbacker like this..

    1 - George Harrison

    2 - Roger McGuinn

    3 - Buddy Clontz

    Great job as always bud!

  • this was the first song i ever learned =D

  • does this use a capo? I've seen so many people with one on it and so many without it

  • @kevinreedmusic No capo on this one...

  • @DoNotObey1 Thanks! That probably comes from being a drummer first.

  • Howwwwwwwww this guitar is the "song of angels"

  • is there a difference in a rhythem and lead guitar?

  • How much do Rickenbacker guitars usually cost???

  • @DouglasCountyBee It depends on the model and year...but they are not "cheap" guitars. They are very well made, and are finished at least as nicely as "custom shop" models of other brands.

  • @BuddyClontz Very true. John's trademark rickenbacker could go easily for alot of money. Better start saving!

  • I love the collection but the chorus has the wrong chords being played

  • yo! mr. white!

  • @djlove13 And what is wrong with that?

  • @BuddyClontz its mr. white from breaking bad....

  • whats with the 3 same guitars?!?!

  • @guitargeek1122 They are not all the same...but even if they are...why does it matter?

  • @BuddyClontz i know, i was just quoting my mom

  • A song about my self. Great job Buddy!!

  • Great sound. So clean. Thank you!

  • excellent tone!

  • magnifico sonido, realmente hermoso, una guitarra divina, Saludos desde Argentina!

wonderful sound, really beautiful, divine guitar, Greetings from Argentina!

  • LOL Wickenbaaker... That's precious... LOL

  • where did you get that guitar in that colour its nice :D

  • @LCORRY214 The color is Montezuma Brown and was only made for one year at the Rickenbacker Factory. I think it was their "color of the year" for 2004.

  • Genio!

  • Great sound man great guitar

  • so cool,excellent!

  • You are top class mate! All your stuff is superb. Your Grandson is a cute one too "Wickenbacker!" Love it. Thanks

  • @Modmart Thank you!

  • WANKER!

  • where do you get these Ric's ? I want a Ric so badly :D

  • @karagerrard They still sell them from the Authorized Rickenbacker Factory Dealers.

  • Give me that Rick! :D

    Hehe, awesome cover. :)

  • hi..i'm a Filipino from Philippines..you are awesome sir! and your guitar is so great!

  • Thanks!

  • John would be proud, :D this is really good!

  • That solo sounded like an angel descending from heaven

  • @XtrmMcjohnson Thank you!

  • I grew up in Hickory and went to UNCW. I live in Raleigh. Just so you know, i so admire your playing on this tune and Ticket To Ride, that i recorded them on my ipod so i can play them in my car. What amp do you use?

  • @zzaldoushuxleyzz I use a fender Hot Rod Deville 4-10.he way, I was born in Raleigh and graduated from UNCW myself!

  • Once again, great job buddy! Did i notice a southern accent? I've been told i have one. I live in north carolina.

  • @zzaldoushuxleyzz Yeah...I'm Southern...but not barefooted, toothless, or married to my first cousin...LOL I'm also from NC.

  • What amp setting do you use for this song? I have a vox valvetronix 50 watt....i thik i can get the same sound you have here. Great job!

  • Dude Your really good!

  • are those the same guitars back there ched?

  • @dazzini82 No

  • Nice collection of Rickys. I wish I had Rickenbacker 325. Lovely guitar. Do you have it, too?

  • @ealiagac Thanks! No I have all 360's and a 370.

  • well done - and that little guy at the end seems to have life pretty well sorted.

  • @BassmanRod55 Thanks!

  • you should totally send me one of those rickenbackers. my birthdays tommorw

  • @SpenserAteTheWorld No thanks!...But Happy Birthday anyway!

  • I'll admit...I sang along

  • @beepit95 Me too

  • Dude can you please tell me where you get all those rickenbackers from?

  • @diegol713 A company called Rickenbacker.... :-)

  • Great! enjoyed it -- ty

  • I could listen to you play all day

    Wonderful rendition xx

  • @DieHardBeatlesFan Thanks!

  • Thanks Buddy.. I needed the rhythm and this worked out great...

  • Great as always Buddy. Just had to mention that you're also giving "Jude" the best education a young man could have. I'm also educating my granddaughter about why Ricks are better than any other guitar made. Ok, so I may be a little biased... lol!!

Hope you keep the great videos coming. Cheers from a fellow Rick fanatic in Canada.

  • @Painkill3r4 Thanks!

  • wickenbacker

  • that room looks really cool! especially that lunchbox behind you..i have a couple beatle lunchboxes like that too

  • @TheWalrusWasPaul9 It's a comfortable space to hang out in and play music. I'm building a room that is about triple this size for the gear and art to go in so I'll have more room to do what I want to do eventually.

  • You have too many guitars..good stuff

  • @swabby02 You can never have too many guitars!

  • great song great guitar.any chance of playing C.C.R.s Who'll Stop The Rain? Thanks Buddy.

  • @ben58862 Thanks! I may do that ne some time. I've always liked that song.

  • I'm a perfectionist. It's like that other guy on YouTube posting himself with a Hofner bass and playing along with While My Guitar Gently Weeps instead of using the Rick 4001 that Paul used on it. Just silly.

  • Just remember though-Harrison used his psychedelic stratocaster on this song, not a Rick!

  • @Daddygeezee I am aware of that...and I have several Fender Strats that I could have used but I chose to use the Rickenbacker because I wanted that sound.

  • @Daddygeezee If you want to get technical he didn't have "Rocky" in psychedelic colors in 65'. Him and John had their strats in the gorgeous sonic blue color still.

  • give me a rickenbacker :D

  • @phreaker92 You must be a Democrat...LOL

  • @BuddyClontz why? :D

  • @BeatlesFan808 No...That was my grandson "Jude" and he will probably wind up with at least some of my guitars. He is has recently turned 5 years old and he is a really good "little man"!

  • @BuddyClontz Hey Jude don't be afraid lalalalaaa . :)

  • @BuddyClontz im 18 and i try and try and try and try to learn all beatles and john lennon solo carrier songs :) so beautiful all song:)

my father 46 and he asked from me : isn't boring yet? and say NO . this will be never boring .

  • Fuck man 3 Rickenbackers!!!!!!!! how the fuck did you pay for them!!!!

  • @birdy47 Actually 4...and I paid for them with cash...LOL It pays to have an education and work hard...or at least it has in my case. :-)

  • @BuddyClontz Haha, awsome

  • cool vid :D

im still trying to get the hang of those f chords -_-

  • LOL...your kiddo knows his Rickys! Great job. Very nice, thanks for posting.

  • @PopppaBlue59 Thanks! Actually, that's my grandson.

  • @BuddyClontz He is a cute little guy! Gonna play a mean guitar too, I'll bet! Take care,

    Kent in Texas.

  • You...do realise it was played on a Stratocaster? Still, nice cover.

  • @Cloudz2789 Yes...I know it was supposedly played on a Stratocaster and I could have used one of mine to do the video with but I thought the Rickenbacker would sound nice so I usd it. Thanks for watching!

  • @BuddyClontz IT is a nice cover, though.

  • Hey, Jude (or littleboy), \º/ play those Rickenbacker 360 and learn to beatles songs with Buddy! There are many guitars there! I need one - lol Buddy, congratulations and tks for video, man! Nowhere Man is a great song and its melody is fantastic - From Brazil!

  • @NSSJKakarot Because I got rid of a few! I used to have more...and I like smy Strats...so these are the "keepers".

  • so cute

  • Hi Buddy,

I got myself a 330 6-String from 2006. What can I do to get closer to John Lennons 325 Sound without getting into deeper costs? Do you use a 10-size medium Round wound string set or a 11-size?

    Best wishes

    Franz

  • @Lauserius50 To be honest I don't know other than use a good tube amp, put a little compression in the mix, and if your Rickenbacker doesn't have the vintage "Toaster" reissue pickups, get them installed. That should get you pretty close to the sound.

  • Cool

  • Awsome

  • Cool

  • Good Evening Buddy,

in some books is to be red, that George plays the Solo on Nowhere Man on a Fender Stratocaster, do you believe that. Is this really the sound of a Strat?

    Best Wishes

    Franz

  • @Lauserius50 Hi Franz, I do think that it could have been a Stratocaster used on the solo of the studio recording.

  • Dear Buddy,

what a great solo, which Amplifikation and Stringsize do you use?

    Thanks

    Greetings from Munich, Germany

  • @Lauserius50 Thanks! I use Rickenbacker Brand Compressed Medium Round-Wound strings. The amp I used on this cover was a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 4-10 and I also used some compression on the guitar with chorus added for the solo.

  • Great performance as usual...very helpfull

    Thanks.....!

  • Thank you!

  • hi, you certainly have nailed the overall beatles sound for sure well played to!, iv always been into strats mainly, but am after a diff sound and have youtubed riks and was wondering if you could help me out a bit which model? year? you playing on this? sounds great! im after 6 string for sure i know with strats early dont always mean better etc so on a realistic budget which is best the 360 model ? ! all the best mike northtern england lancashire

  • Thank you Nike! I love Strats also. I personally prefer the 360-12 over the 360-6 because it has more "jingle jangle" especially if it is a model with Toaster pickups. It's not a lead guitar being a 12-string but it sounds like nothing else. Rickenbackers are great guitars and the craftsmanship is second to none.

  • is that colour a montezuma brown?

  • Yes it is. If you want to see better pictures of the guitars, visit my website and there are a few posted which show the guitars in much more detail.

  • i dream about a rickenbacker 330 and you have more then 3 f*ck you

  • I don't dream about any of it. I just go to work and earn the money to buy them.

  • 3 rickenbackers? what a fuckin show off!! nice job tho ha

  • Actually...that's not all of them...LOL

  • I'd sell me granny for 1 of them lol

  • great playing man beatles rule.if they ever put me in prison i hope its in the same one as chapman hope he rots in hell.

    paul

    UNITED KINGDOM

  • Yeah! So much fun to watch.

  • and this too¡¡ I can?? PLEASE!

my vocals and acosutic guitar! =)

    ((°J°))

    ... - Edder

  • Sure...

  • your son is awesome! and a bit of a lennon look alike as well! can you possible make a video of your setup? i just got a 1987 Rickenbacker 320, but i cant quite get the sound your getting. even though ive only had it for about 2 hours :) thanks a ton! you should play strawberry fields forever!

  • Thanks! Actually "Jude" the little boy you are referring to is now 4 years old...and he is my grandson. My kids are 26 and 19! As far as my setup goes...it's very simple. Guitar into preamp(usually a bit of compression) and from there into the Fender Hot Rod DeVille 4-10. I have a 100Watt Marshall stack but I don't use it much these days. That's about it.

  • oh i gotcha haha. hes a smart kid, im guessing one of those rics in the backround will be his one day. What preamp do you use? i have a 20 dollar behringer compressor and a vox vr30r (decent compact AC30 remake) but i cant get that beatles sound, or get it to chirp like your rick, im guessing Jude's parents are beatles fans too?

  • The only thing I used for a preamp was a compression setting that I dialed in on my Yamaha DG stomp preamp.

  • sweet guitars sounds great as well 5*****

  • Thanks!

  • give me one guitar at the background :-)

  • In a perfect world...where I wasn't taxed to death, I could probably afford to give away a lot of guitars...but the world is not perfect...so I think I'm going to hang on to them. :-)

  • Thanks!

  • The sound is very good :)

  • Perfect. Just perfect.

  • You play it so perfectly.

  • Really nice job !

  • Briefly, what's the significance of the Rickenbacker guitar sound that sets it apart?

  • It has a ringing clarity and tone that is distinct from any other guitar I've ever played personally.

  • great stuff!

  • fantastic sound buddy and a fantasic collection of guitars best wishes from Liverpool England 5*****

  • Thanks!

  • hey man whats your recording setup? (camera, pedals, etc)

  • Guitar, Amp, compressor on this video, and a simple little Sony Handycam Digital Camera. Nothing fancy at all.
