@ironcitydevildog Actually...my kids are 28 and 21, and the little boy is my grandson. His mom is my oldest daughter...LOL He is my favorite little guy!
@BuddyClontz Sorry. Either way Im 40 and have a 4 year old and he knows what a Rickenbacker is, and knows "Paul Acartney" as he says it plays the same as mine!!! You gotta love those little guys!!!!! My mom says I have him brainwashed but I'd rather him listen to the Beatles than this Rap crap that is out now!!! The Beatles are quality music for all generations!!! :)
@TheKenfig Yes, this is the Ric 360-6VP. Six strings...and the VP stands for "vintage pickups" which are the 7.4 Kohm Toasters like the ones used in the 1950's and 1960's.
@BuddyClontz Cool. My fav band is The Beatles but I have been a huge fan of The Byrds since I was about 13 years old in the mid 70s ; I have 7 of their albums Mr. Tambourine Man up to and including Sweetheart Of The Rodeo and also Ballad Of Easy Rider album plus their '67 Greatest Hits,so thats 8 ! - I have a 12 string Martin acoustic myself, and the other guitars I have are a 6 string Gretsch historic series (my favourite of mine) which was only £330 new (about $600 yeah ?) and a real Gibson SG
@TheKenfig I have always been a fan of the Byrds and Roger McGuinn is definitely the master of the Rickenbacker 12-string in my opinion. I would love to have a nice Gretsch also...and eventually I may get one as well as a Gibson SG. You can never have too many guitars....LOL
@BuddyClontz My Gretsch is purely acoustic though but I love it and play it the most. The semi - acoustic real Gretsch is very expensive new, like a couple of thousand pounds. I would like most a Rickenbacker 12 string ! I guess that's out of my price range unless a second hand one. My SG is made in the USA so it's a good one I got second hand for £550, but I bought a brand new (at the time) Marshall valve state 80 watts amp for it - thanks and all the best !
@paulmcc11 I have a little bit of change in them....LOL I own 15 right now. I've probably owned 25-30 over the last 35 or so years. You have to keep in mind, these instruments were bought over decades so I didn't just go out and buy them all at once. I still have some of my drum hardware from 1969 and my entire set from 1977 and they still look like new!
@DouglasCountyBee It depends on the model and year...but they are not "cheap" guitars. They are very well made, and are finished at least as nicely as "custom shop" models of other brands.
@LCORRY214 The color is Montezuma Brown and was only made for one year at the Rickenbacker Factory. I think it was their "color of the year" for 2004.
I grew up in Hickory and went to UNCW. I live in Raleigh. Just so you know, i so admire your playing on this tune and Ticket To Ride, that i recorded them on my ipod so i can play them in my car. What amp do you use?
Great as always Buddy. Just had to mention that you're also giving "Jude" the best education a young man could have. I'm also educating my granddaughter about why Ricks are better than any other guitar made. Ok, so I may be a little biased... lol!!
Hope you keep the great videos coming. Cheers from a fellow Rick fanatic in Canada.
@TheWalrusWasPaul9 It's a comfortable space to hang out in and play music. I'm building a room that is about triple this size for the gear and art to go in so I'll have more room to do what I want to do eventually.
I'm a perfectionist. It's like that other guy on YouTube posting himself with a Hofner bass and playing along with While My Guitar Gently Weeps instead of using the Rick 4001 that Paul used on it. Just silly.
@Daddygeezee I am aware of that...and I have several Fender Strats that I could have used but I chose to use the Rickenbacker because I wanted that sound.
@Daddygeezee If you want to get technical he didn't have "Rocky" in psychedelic colors in 65'. Him and John had their strats in the gorgeous sonic blue color still.
@BeatlesFan808 No...That was my grandson "Jude" and he will probably wind up with at least some of my guitars. He is has recently turned 5 years old and he is a really good "little man"!
@Cloudz2789 Yes...I know it was supposedly played on a Stratocaster and I could have used one of mine to do the video with but I thought the Rickenbacker would sound nice so I usd it. Thanks for watching!
