Gloves make it worse. Touch something hot and you wont feel it at first, but it starts burning seconds later and now your hand is stuck in a burning glove.

And it gives you that false sense of safety, "If I will put on gloves, I will be safe, so i can touch that hot piece of metal."

Also, its hard to find good gloves that give you the same maneuverability of bare hands.

You can't use the hammer correctly wearing gloves and I only use them for Damascus steel production.

We use tongs to pick things up, that way you don't get burned.
